I had the same problem. Everything worked except the sound. There is a small button next to the CD player that is a reset button. Press that and the audio came back. You have to reset your presets but at least the sounds works.

Do you have NAV option? If not, you may be able to reset radio by removing all three fuses, one in glove box and others in rear panel right pass side, then put them back in, and this resets radio default which clears up issue in most cases. If you don't want to pull fuses, you can also disconnect battery, but be careful. With NAV, it gets more complicated. CeraCoat-NanoTech.com

That means that your car wasn't fitted with bluetooth module from factory. You can purchase at dealer but you're talking around $1k and from what I hear isn't the greatest.
I got a visor mounted blue tooth speaker from Motorola that works great in my 2005 S-Type.
Hello Richard, when the ulf module was installed, was the jumper plug installed in the blue 26 pin connector in the left rear corner near the GPS unit. I think that if this plug is missing, you will not get any sound for the interface. This plug is required for vehicles with nav. I think it is called the Voice Input jumper plug.
