My 2004 Pontiac aztek runs great unless you have to go up a hill or pass someone on the highway. Three different mechanics including the dealership can't figure this out. When u accelerate more than...

Loss of power at highway speed is usually clogged fuel filter or clogged air filter. Checking fuel pressure won't tell you if the filter is clogging up. You can still have pressure, just no volume. Air filters can do the same, except it will usually die or stumble coming to stops. The abs and disable light won't affect the engine performance. Hopefully you have a bad wheel sensor that is also disabling the AWD. The sensor is around $100 the actuator for the AWD is over $300

MY VERONA!!!

The steering wheel is getting stiff because the engine is dying, so it is not driving your power steering pump fast enough to give you proper pressure. I would first check your IAC, which will be located on the throttle body, and is what controls your idle.

Driving home, 2003 Dodge neon starts to slow down, oil light has come on intermittedenly before, engine started to lose power, brakes locked up, and steering wheel locked up. Car had to be towed. Thanks.

lets hope its not a bad motor from lack of oil pressure, the loss of brakes and steering is due to the engine stopped running this is normal, but hte oil light coming on with the engine running is not good, you will need to see if the engine spins and trys to start, this will tell you a little bit, if it spins then it didnt lock up, and maybe its a fuelpump or timing belt that let go, you will have to do some testing ,check for fuel pressure and spark at the plugs,

2004 chevy trailblazer-Reduce engine power light, service engine soon light came on together, car lost all power, couldn't even turn the steering wheel, engine stalled. shut off key and started again and...

You need to get the fault codes read to determine where the problem is that set the SES light. Autozone will scan your car at no charge. At some point you will need to get a mechanic involved to further diagnose the codes.

On my display "POWER STEERING" warning flashes then stays. When this happens my car will **** as if it is about to die. Could it be a transmission problem or a cpu problem?

Not familiar with a "power steering" warning.

I think this is similar to a oil pressure light coming on. What you are seeing is that the car is trying to stall, so the loss of power causes the power steering pump pressure to drop, and thus the warning.

Need to understand the underlying issues:

(1) Since you start with a power steering warning, must ask, are you making a short turn when this occurs?
(2) If not turning, then need to understand what you are doing when car tries to stall: Driving at highway speeds, idle, car hot/cold?

Could be a CPU problem, less likely a transmission problem, but on a 2005, should be getting a check engine light.
