I have a 2010 Matrix. the windshield has an L shaped crack on the passenger side. Insurance won't fix (500 deductable) will toyota cover this under warranty?

The crack starts, I believe , on the side of the window goes out horizontally about 3 inches then turns upwards for about 4 inches. My insurance says it is too big to repair and needs to be replaced. It was just a spontaneous crack...no rock or collision. Will this be covered under a warranty? Do I take it to the dealership?

SOURCE: My 2006 toyota matrix has

It should be replaced. The windshield actually will provide protection in a roll over crash, keeping the roof from caving in and crushing occupants. So you want it to be crack free for the strength to be there to protect you. The only repairs that can be made are much smaller than what you describe, and in hot and cold weather the glass will continue to expand and contract, and crack further.

My 09pontiac vibe has heat only on the driver side cold air on the passenger side help me please

i don't know - i am guessing heater/AC vents stuck, connection to dash control lost or gate jammed. eg. pencil or something fell into windshield vent etc. you could ask
GM if there was a problem on this. Toyota Matrix may have same heater so you could ask Toyota dealer similar.
temporary [one trip] fix might be to select 'inside air' but
opena window. good luck.

Windshield replacement

Some companies will repair a large crack such as your if it does not reach from one edge of the windshield over to another.I would recommend replacement. Most of the time you can see the crack slightly still after the repair and delamination is a possibility later on.check with your insurance company and you may be able to pay a $50 deductible to have it replaced.

Windshield crack

If your crack is shorter than a $1 bill, it can be repaired, I recommend Safelite auto glass. If it is greater than that, it will need to be replaced. If replacement is needed, there are many coupons that will cover the deductable upto $100 (I think)....check in the phone book.

Windshield crack repair

The windshield is actually a piece of safety equipment designed to hold you inside the car in a horrific accident. Once the windshield has a crack, the integrity of the safety equipment is compromised and should be replaced. Repairing it is not suitable. If your seat belt was ripped in half, would you feel comfortable sewing it back together? I hope not.

How do I replace the cabin air filter on my 2005 Toyota Matrix?

For 2005 Toyota Corolla (and Matrix), the location of the cabin air filter is inside of the drawer (passenger side). Open the drawer, you will see a screw on the RIGHT hand side. Unscrew it with a cross shape screw driver. Unlock the drawer from the screw holder. And take the drawer out of the cabin. After the removal, you will be able to see the location of the cabin air filter. There is a lock at each side of the filter cover. For each side, use two fingers to pinch the lock and pull out the cover. You will see the old filter after removing the cover. Pull it out, and insert your new filter.
Put the cover back. Make sure the two locks are firmly locked. Put the drawer back. To make this work easier, you may lock the bottom of the drawer first, as there are TWO locks on each side of the bottom drawer. Close the drawer to see if the position is right. Place the screw back, that's all

2000 Ford Escort SE repair costs?

If you turn it into insurance this vehicle could be totaled out. Aribags are not cheap. You also have to replace the sensors and module, as they are NOT reusable. The passenger airbag could be part of the entire dash cover, Windshields I have seen as low as 120 installed. Theo., you could have 600-1000 tied up in doing it yourself. Fyi I hit a deer , did not hurt my winshield or airbags. Cost 2500 to repair.
