How to change water pump on 93 subaru lagacy

Big job.. Strip to and remove all cam belt covers etc. then remove water pump and replace. Check out and replace belt and tensioners and idlers as required while there. Get a manual..

Have a back up battery source hooked up to the car like a 4-6 amp battery charger and you will be fine. You just need to not loose power to the cars electronics or the memory is lost and must be reset, allot of trouble,

there should be two screws one on top of the headlight and one on the side park the car on a level servise and adjust the headlights till thay are right in front of the car most cars the screew is a filips head

My 98 Subaru has this same problem. I changed the filter and had the injectors cleaned and flow checked. I think that as the electric fuel pump (that is on the sender unit that is in the fuel tank) begins to wear out, the output of the pump drops off and can't keep up with engine demand during exceleration. I think this is why the car is hard to start with only a partially filled fuel tank. When the tank is not full, the pump is not "helped" by the weight (head pressure) of the fuel in the tank. I may be crazy. I will be changing this pump soon. I found one at my local Auto Value in stock for $130.00. Be glad you have a Subaru because you can take the sender unit out of the tank from inside the car. Other manufacturers make you remove the tank.

No. On the sedan, remove the rear seat and carpet, there will be an oval shaped plate, remove that and fuel pump is right there.
On the wagon, remove the carpet, same oval shaped plate.

Look for the option code sticker in the glove box and look up the codes on the net or call the subaru dealer and ask them what the opton codes are on your lagacy. Good luck.

NORMALY THIS IS A LEAK FROM THE WATER PUMP, SMALL HOLE IN THE UNDERSIDE OF THE PUMP LETS IT OUT WHEN THE SEAL IT GONE

water pump could be bad again. if the seal is out lets air in around pump propeller and it won't move water and it over heats. its a lot of work but you can fix it your self
