Check engine light comes on and off. Had the code test done. Comes back as the thermostat. My main concern is that alot of people are saying that with their nissan sentra between year model 2000-2008 the check engine will not go off even though they have almost replaced everything on there car.( as much money they spent could have bought them another car) Is this a defect on nissan???
Disconnect battery for 15 minutes, and then reconnect. Codes reset, but you will have to reset radio , you have code dont you

this problem could be caused by the mass air flow censor, i had the same problem with my car. it is really pricey at the dealer so you might want to check elsewhere for this part. I found one at a scrap yard for 85% less that the dealer and i also got life time warranty, the dealer does not offer any warranty on this part.

Your computer will re-set and be "ready" after a certain number of restarts and miles, depending upon how much you use the car it should take from a few days to a week. Surprised the tech didn't tell you that!

You will need a new catalytic convertor assembly. Yours is below treshold efficiency in other words its "no good".If you have it replaced, ask the garage/dealer to give you the old one back. Its worth some cash if its full. It doesn't matter thet it failed. They are going after the mesh inside of it and that is worth some $$$$. May not be much , but better than nothing.

This comes from bad gas and running lean., You really need this professionally inspected to rule out the basics. I have seen alot of nissans with the knock sensor code stored but the light is still off.
Fill up the tank with high octane chevron and some techron injector cleaner and clear the light. If it stays off for a couple days then go get it inspected. Even if the code is stored it will still pass as long as the light is still off and the monitors have run.
