Hi,
This is the second Vw I have responded to in a fortnight.
Your lack of power I presume always happens when the glow plug light illuminates?
This is because it is causing over combustion to vaporised diesel, I would be looking in the Glow plug timer and relay, as for Turbo lag, I run a E34 6 cyl Bmw Diesel and the Turbo only kicks in around 2,500ish so maybe yours is a little tired or in need of a check up?
Hope this helped,
Paul 'W'

Turbo not kicking

It may have seized up turbo bearings, when they get hot they expand and the turbo blades will not turn. Pull the hose and try to move them, if there is any resistance then that is likely the problem and you will need a new turbocharger installed. Don't replace it until a qualified tech has confirmed that turbo is the problem.

Engine managment light flashes (glow plugs light)

the car is going into limp mode due to an engine management fault. have to check what the fault is with a code reader. if the milage is high 100,000+ could be a turbo fault (overboosting), as this will put the car into limp mode.

On my passat ESP warning is coming on. i have changed yaw rate sensor allready and ESP warning light is still coming on. what should i do? its Passat tdi 130, 2004. Thanx

You should have the OBD codes checked. This will determine the exact fault. The ESP light will sometimes come on if there is a problem with the ABS or with the steering angle sensor.
Good luck with this

Glow plugs warning light + brake lights on

I had EXACTLY the same problem with a friends car i was doing work on.
Your problem is almost certainly a faulty brake light switch. This is a common fault and brings on the dash lights you describe. The switch is located just above the brake pedal and is easy to fit. If you can get the OBD codes read...My guess is it will show up this switch as faulty.
Good luck

Loss of power, glow plug light flashes, cruise control intermittent.

Check for intake blockage (coking). May also be a bad turbo-charger actuator pod or something as easy as a Mass Airflow Meter.
