SOURCE: my 2002 toyota echo drains the battery over night.

More than likely battery doesn't hold a charge overnight. After time batteries don't charge as deeply and can't hold a charge. Jump start and take to any good parts store and have them load test your battery (they do this FREE) Autozone or Advance would be my first choices. While there have them test your charging system - they do this FREE also.

New battery - battery is drained in the morning.Replaced voltage regulator. Disconnected aircon. Still drains overnight. Ute will start and run with full battery but it drains overnight.

Easyest thing to do is pull one cable off your battery. Start pulling fuses and each time touch the cable to the battery post. When you find one that reduces the spark drastically that is the circuit to investigate.

Have a 2002 echo 4 door my son took out battery to use in his jeep then he put it back in the echo now it won't turn over all dash light are on I hear a buzzing noise inside transmission pan

Probably is a bad battery. Most of them start to die after 1 1/2 to 2 years. Try to use a jump start or another battery to verify. Good luck.

My daughters 2003 Toyota Echo is eating batteries. I bought a new battery from AutoZone about a week ago and it is already dead. The altenator was checked and checked good. She told me the car is also...

You may have a "parasitic battery drain". (Hint: google "finding parasitic battery drains") Basically, there is something "on" that is draining the life of the battery even while the key is off. Common sources are courtesy lights under the hood and in the trunk; even in the sun visors. Also, anything that is hooked into the cigaretter lighter (or "power port") circuit. These items could be aftermarket car alarms, inverters for operating portable electronics, phone chargers etc. If you eliminate all these and still have the battery draining down, you may have a low amperage short somewhere. To find the circuit responsible, you will have to connect an ammeter in series with the battery negative cable. Say for example that it still shows a .1 amp drain--even with everything turned off. Start pulling fuses one at a time until the amp drain reads zero. The problem will be on the circuit of the last fuse you pulled. From there, you'll have to try and disconnect each item on that circuit until you find the culprit. It sounds tedious and it is.

I have a slow battery drain on my 2001 Toyota echo. I have traced it to the Dome Light fuse, but it isn't the dome light. (removed the light, battery drain remains). When I pull the fuse, it kills the...

It might be shorted to another circuit. Does ammeter read below 0.30 amps. Sounds like its shorting between door-ajar and radio. You have to back probe circuits until you find the short.

This should be done with everything turned off and the door closed. with negative battery disconnected. place 12 v test light between the battery terminal and the cable end.(on neg. side) if the light lites up there is a drain. remove one fuse at a time until u see the lite go out. that is the sytem the drain is on. usually glove box light or trunk light or visor light left on or stuck on.
