Minor Electirc Troubles (1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo)
I have a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, and the problem is my horn only works sometimes, and the the lights that light up the display in the dash, the temperature and gas mileage, the P,R,N,D,etc. near the shift, and the A/C/heat controls flicker no matter what setting I put for the dome lights.
Any ideas on what might be wrong?
(I recently had a new radio put in and maybe wires came loose in the installation?)

Hi Jose, I've never tried but if you go visit a breakers yard and compare the physical dimensions of both boxes and they match up, there is no reason why they should not. Most manufactures use the same units in a variety of models and if you've found a similar vehicle with identical uses the parts are most likely interchangeable. Regards John
On my dodge truck, it was the throttleposition sensor that went bad. It is located on the side of the throttle body. $50 for a new one, or $100 to have a shop do it.
You will find the problem in one of three places...Either the horn contacts inside the steering wheel are bad, the relay is sticking or the horn itself has failed or is failing. All give similar symptoms.
sometimes the actual sockets go bad where you plug your bulbs into dust water ect gets in and sometimes its just faulty.i know im a tech for chrysler jeep and dodge but they are not cheap if you have a test light use it and touch the inside where the bulb goes if there is power then its not that.could also have a short.
