I have a 2007 Impala LT that just turned 93,000 miles. Other than some tire pressure sensor issues, I have never had any problems with this car. In the last 2 weeks we have taken the car in for transmission flush. They found a gasket between the oil filter and somewhere that needed replacing and no major problems with the transmission. Within 2 days, I had a coolant leak that they determined was my water pump and so we also had the serpentine belt replaced. Yesterday (about a week later) my "check engine" light came on with no signs of any obvious problems so we guess we will have to take the car in. I am considering selling the car and buying either a 1 year old car. However, it seems like my 2007 is selling for the same amount as a 2012 depending on the mileage. Any thoughts on where we should stop "fixing" my car and buy another newer car with lower mileage? I appreciate your thoughts and advice.

So after receiving no feedback, I found another website that said we could take the car to Auto Zone to run on their diagnostic machine. The code was the oil sending sensor was bad. Good luck with your website. I won't be using it again.

A lot depends on how and where you are diving the car, and what you can do about repairs. I have found that, on average, cars at 10+ years old start requiring replacement of parts that are subject to wear or age, such as what you are experiencing. If you want to keep driving it, you should expect to be servicing sensors and other engine parts, brakes, suspension parts, fuel system parts, etc. to keep it running properly.

There are a lot of opinions out there (including mine), but I think there are two schools of thought on this.

Depreciation is a major factor, and at 10 years for a car that needs repairs, it really isn't worth much. So, if you can and have the time and tools to do most of the work yourself, this is the way to go as the total cost over life (including original purchase price) is a lot less than the cost of a much newer replacement vehicle.

However, if you cannot do any work yourself, repair labor costs will eat your lunch, and you are better off getting it to an acceptable working condition and then unloading it, going for a much newer low mileage vehicle. I would suggest if you go this route, be sure to get a decent power train warranty and that the new one is no older than three years.

Have the DIS module checked and the coil pack for cyl 3. If either/both of those need replaced, have it done and have the codes cleared. Then see if it clears the others.

You may need a TPS (throttle position sensor) as well.

Have you tried to checking the tensioner and the idler pulley? The idler is a fixed pulley on the driver side of the alternator. Most of the time this gets rusted during sudden change in the weather or its just the bearing inside it just worned off.

These things happens sometimes. Disconnect your battery for 15 minutes then reconnect it. Just the ground cable is all needed to remove for this

Where is the tire sensor located on 2012 chevy impala?

If you mean the TPMS (tire pressure monitering system) each tire has it's own sensor located in the rim specifically inside the rim attached to the other side of the valve stem. hope that helps.

MY IMPALA 2007 LT IS LEAKING OIL GASKET WAS REPLACED TWO MONTHS BACK IT HAD BEEN FINE BUT JUST YESTERDAY OIL PRESSURE LOW SENSOR CAME ON & NOW I NOTICE IT'S HAVING A SLOW WATER DRIP PROBLEM AS

Yes or a small bypass hose. You may be able to get a loan of a tester at autozone, oreilys, or advance autoparts. You want a radiator pressure tester. Do not exceed the cap rated pressure. When the engine is warm, you can add pressure and look for water seepage.

There are also chemicals to add to detect leaks if the first method is unsuccessful.

The light for the tire pressure wont turn off and i already tired to reset it and it wont work is the next step changing the tire sensor for all four tires?

how did you try to reset it? if all tires are at the correct pressure (on drivers door, NOT what the tire says) then there may be one that is not reporting. But dont guess, have it checked out, they are not cheap.

2007 chevrolet impala sedan. bought a new battery and now the digital sensor won't display the tire pressure.

The easiest way to reset it is to turn the ignition to accessories and pull the interior light switch on and off three times. That should reset it
