Sounds like you have a loose heat shield that is a piece of tin between your exhaust pipe and floor of vehicle. These can rattle pretty bad. While the noise is there, look under vehicle and you may see where it's loose, or corroded.. If you get under the vehicle when it is cooled off, you can probably locat this loose shield within seconds. If it is not loose, wiggle your exhaust pipe and E brake cable. Hopefully you will find something loose

Rattling noise coming from the driver's side front end

it could be a heat sheild on the exsaust its not a real problem, but if bothers you that much you could tighten the bolts or even take it off. and about your check engin light it could be your gas cap not being tightened enough because on subaru cars the gas caps must click atlease 4 times or a check engin light will show up due to a code sent to the computer saying the gad cap is loose

When my car is in park i can hear a rattling sound on my drivers side it sounds like it is almost underneath me

If you look under your car you will see a tin heat shield in between the exhaust pipe and the floor of car. These are known to rot loose and cause all kinds of noises. This is located right where you described the noise. Sometimes if this piece is still entact, you can just bend it a bit and the noise will stop, but I would usually just rip them off and leave it off. Hope this helps you

Rattle noise under driver's side hood 2012 Subaru Forester

Could be the catalytic converter heat shields, or the exhaust heat shields bolted to the underbody. Might also be the catalytic converter internal converter honeycomb broken loose. Unusual, but can occur if excess unburned fuel is being passed to the converter. High fuel consumption is another clue.

Awful rattling noise when reversing and turning

you are right about the bearing going to bits, it is called a CV joint. it allows the driveshafts to the front wheels to flex as you turn left or right and one is coming apart if one is going bad the other side will too soon, get them both replaced. If you don't, when it breaks completely it will cause MUCH more damage
