It is recommended that a timing belt should be change every 100,000km. Honda's and Acura's especially. Whenever the water pump is changed, it is also wise to change the timing belt too as it is all in one spot, and VS. In some cars, [Acura's], when the timing belt breaks, it also can tear your valves in your engine apart, so I hope that this answers your question

SOURCE: When di I need to change a timing belt with 120K

Now. i think the interval is 75 to 80 miles for belts. double check that it doesn't have a timing chain. if it has the 2.4 ltr eng than you have timing chain and around 120k is fine.

Timing belt hydrolic

Your belt will need to be changed again at roughly 150000 miles.Whenever replacing components that relate to timing you should do them all at the same time. it is a difficult and time consuming job to get to the timing gear so for the sake of just changing the hydraulic tensioner and paying to get the belt changed again within a short period of time. its smarter to get it all done at once, and not pay someone to do the job twice. if you do it all now, you can wait another 60000 miles to get it done rather than doing just the hydraulic and then having to do it all again in only 20000 miles.Hope that helps.

When does the timing belt need changed on a 2002 Volkswagen Mk4 Golf 1.4?

Its recommended to check at first 60k miles and at every 20k miles, if necessary change the timing belt. Replacement at 120k miles requires to replace the tensioner pulley. If needed, you can replace your timing belt at http://www.buyautoparts.com/auto-parts/timing_belt.htm

When should you change the timing belt

well I think its around 60,000 miles for most vehicles but if it is going bad, i would change it asap! but it verys from vehicle to vehicle. If you have the owners manual for your vehicle, it should detail when the belt should be changed.

A good general rule of thumb is that a timing belt should be changed every 60,000 to 75,000 miles, although some belts are designed to last up to 100,000 miles before requiring a change. Regardless though, it is best not to let a belt go more then 80,000 or so. have a good day !!

Does my Civic have a timing chain or a timing belt

It has a timing belt. Recommended to be replace every 105,000 miles, timing belt also run's your water pump good idea to also replace, your engine is also an INTERFERENCE ENGINE which will damage your cylinder head valve's if timing belt goes bad. Hope this was very helpful.

ON THIS CAR WHEN DOES THE TIMING BELT NEED TO BE CHANGED ?

your timing belt needs to be replaced every 90,000 miles on the older cars they are to be replaced at every 60,000 miles. but if it was me i would do every 60k just because breaking a timing belt can cost you a motor and for your camery that can cost up to 2000 for a rebuilt motor.

Engine

200,000-300,000 miles if you keep up with oil changes and belt changes especially the timing belt this is usually the most important belt if it brakes you'll need a new engine. Change this belt around 80-100,000 miles.

Unknown millage on timing belt 152000

The interval for replacement is 60,000 miles on that model.
If you do not know the last time it was changed, it would be a good idea to do it so you do not risk getting stranded.

The engine is NOT an interference engine, so the engine will not be damaged if the belt breaks; you will just need a tow truck to get it somewhere to install a new belt.

When to replace timing chain on 2003 Camry V6?

Replace the timing belt at 90,000 miles.

It will not damage the motor (bend the valves) if it breaks or jumps time

Finally, if you do change the belt, make sure that the water pump is inspected very close for any evidence of coolant seepage at the impeller shaft weep hole. If there is ANY evidence of wetness or leakage, replace the pump then. Easier to change the pump when the belt is off, than to have to do the whole job if the leak gets worse, and, if it leaks down the road, coolant on the timing belt will damage the belt, and you will have to buy a new belt, too. Change the plugs at 90 K miles, too.

High Mileage.... No Timing belt change!....

If you buy this car, you should change the timing belt asap. Check Edmonds, and other internet sites for average prices, (197k miles brings the price down for sure, internet sites should give an amount to deduct for the miles) average for this year is around 70k). The fog light and small dent aren't big issues, but deduct the cost of timing belt change from prices you get on the internet. Good Luck coountrycurt0
