I HAVE A 2000 VW POLO 1.6CL , PETROL, MANUAL. LAST ONE WEEK WHEN COLD IN THE MORNING, ENGINE CUTTING OUT WHILE STARTING THE CAR , It can be started, when cold, only by giving a bit of acceleration. Even when once started it gets cut out while changing gears at slow speed for about quarter of a mile after which the car goes without any problem.

Will let you know after I sort out the idle air control valve. Thank you very much.
The engine limits the speed automatically however when you release the accelerator and press again it picks up again.
