2005 F-150 sounds like front wheel bearing is bad. turn to the left and sound is bad. turn to the right and no noise

Sounds like a winding, grinding noise when steering vehicle to the left on curves at any speed and no noise when steering to the right. I changed left wheel bearing only.

Looks like it's time for a right wheel bearing, or however many there are in the hub. I'm assuming you do not have a 4 wheel drive. Remember, if it makes noise when turning left, you are "loading" the right wheel bearing. ( Shifting more weight to the side inside your turn). Think this way. When turning left at a higher speed, the left tire might even come up off the ground! That puts all the weight on the right. If you've 4 wheel drive, could also be c.v. joints, or universal joints.

SOURCE: steering wheel make a noise when turn left

its due to low/no fluid level in the power steering reservoir.Check the fluid in the power steering. If it is low the car will make noise when you turn the wheel. the internal parts gets rubbed hard and noise occurs. refill the fluid and let it reset for some time then try it will get the fluency to move smooth and noise will get stopped. -------- This will help. You say the rear wheel axles and bearings have been replaced, you mention nothing of the front wheels, you have the symptoms of a front wheel bearing being worn out, remove them and check for pitting in the bearing rollers or the bearing races, I am sure you will find a problem. Hope this helps solve your issue with the bearing noise.

What is the reason for front grinding when turning

This due to either a worn wheel bearing or a worn front drive arm.

The most common cause of a grinding noise when turning is a worn front wheel bearing. What happens is that the weight of the car is shifted on to that wheel as you make the turn causing the worn bearing to make a grinding noise.

I have a noise in the left front wheel on a 4x4 F-150. Replace the hub, but noise has returned intermeintly.

Sounds like wheel bearing, an easy way to check it out is to just jack up that corner enough to get the weight off the wheel then with one hand on the top and one on the bottom of your tire check for any play. If there is play your bearing is bad. the play will most likely be very very little (less than 1/16 of an inch) but there should none whatsoever. if the grinding noise happens when turning left, check the right side or grinding when turning right check the left side. sometimes the bearing has a bad seal or wasn't properly lubed when being made.

Grinding noise upon turning. Only audible in interior - sounds like 4-wheel drive is about to die!

If you hear the nosie when turning right or when turning left? Have you checked your front or back brake pad linings? It sounds like you have a bad bearing,cv axle or ujoint, . Where do you here the noise from? Front or back or left or right?

Does sound stop when you turn LEFT?

Turning RIGHT puts the heavy load on the LEFT front wheel.
That initially STOPPED the noise, correct? So why did you change L?

Turning LEFT puts the load on the RIGHT. Did you change the RIGHT?

Let's say this:
If turning RIGHT stops the noise, it's the RIGHT one that's likely bad.
If turning LEFT stops the noise, it's the LEFT one that's more likely bad.

Make sense? Turning RIGHT loads the LEFT wheel; and vice-versa as the WEIGHT SHIFTS AWAY FROM THE TURN.

More than likely it is what some folks call a CV joint problem, not wheel bearings. Try backing up and then going forward to see if "clunking sound" or a sharp "bang" is heard. Wheel bearings and CV joints only work if smooth. Sometimes a BEARING RACE is bad. Also, a bad spindle / part of the CV joint / transaxle assembly worn or badly machined. If in a WET ENVIRONMENT especially, u may want to try marine grade grease or teflon-added grease.

You should definitely pull the front wheel and check the bearings (they are roller bearings, not ball bearings). With the wheel off, you should be able to isolate where the noise is coming from, but I vote for the bearings. Check, replace and/or repack, and adjust properly. If you have noise, you should be able to feel the "play" in the bearings, or see the wear problem on the spindle and bearings. I hope this helps you.

Grinding noise in the left front wheel while turning right - gets more noticeable the harder the turn is. Checked tire clearance - no problem, but it's not a rubbing noise but a grinding noise. No problem...

grinding on front wheel is caused by 2 things. a bad or loose wheel bearing,or worn out brakes, have them both checked
You might also want to check the level of fluid in the power steering reservoir - low or lack of fluid will also cause a noise (although more of a whining than a grinding).
