Question about 2004 Jaguar X-Type
Is there any warning light or any fault come on the screen in dash stating about?
Check if you can the fuel filter or the fuel rail ?

Hello and welcome to FixYa!
As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you remove the positive battery connector. Let it sit for atleast 5mins. before reconnecting. This will reset the system and can get your car back to it's normal operation.
If the problem still persists, I suggest that you tighten the body grounds specially the negative battery connector. Loosen body grounds can result to loss of power.
