it would make sense because in a lot of cars, the screen for the backup camera is integrated into the infotainment system (which includes the radio).
I'm surprised the dealer didn't' just recommend an infotainment system to replace your radio with. You might call another Hyundai dealer and ask them to recommend an infotainment system which includes a backup camera integration. They should be able to handle the full installation.
Any chance u got a manual to refer to since it looks something that happens not very often.. like get reference books from reliable-store.com .. I'm kinda sure that's all u need.. I think the camera system needs a reset probably
Your problem there may be that your back up lights are not getting 12v to the system, if you have a multi meter you can test how much voltage it getting through the wire, also maybe the camera is not being wired correctly into the backup light or there is a shortage somewhere in the wire.

Troubleshooting and replacing backup sensors on a 2006 Ford F250 truck, but information is ... Offered up an aftermarket back up camera for $150 in place of repairing the factory system. ...The backup alarm did not work.
A simple, after-market solution is the truly wireless QuickVu(TM) Wireless Backup Camera. The camera has no (zero) wires. The receiver and monitor are super simple, too! Buy direct from the manufacturer!
make sure your backup lights are coming on. if the backup lights are working when in reverse then most likely you have a bad camera or loose connection. also may want to check for power to the camera ( fuses/circut).
With a backup camera I installed on my wife's Pathfinder, there was a power wire that connected to the backup light power. So when the backup lights came on in reverse, the camera got power, sent a video signal to the dash radio screen, and it would automatically switch to that input. You might have a bad wire/connection supplying power to the camera.
