Dealer says problem with backup camera not working is because the radio needs to be replaced because their wiring is the same and together?

Hi,

it would make sense because in a lot of cars, the screen for the backup camera is integrated into the infotainment system (which includes the radio).

I'm surprised the dealer didn't' just recommend an infotainment system to replace your radio with. You might call another Hyundai dealer and ask them to recommend an infotainment system which includes a backup camera integration. They should be able to handle the full installation.

Thank you.

I installed an aftermarket backup camera on my09 chev Silverado. Camera works fine if staight 12 applied, but will not work when hooked up to backup light .Any suggestions?

Your problem there may be that your back up lights are not getting 12v to the system, if you have a multi meter you can test how much voltage it getting through the wire, also maybe the camera is not being wired correctly into the backup light or there is a shortage somewhere in the wire.

2008 nissan armada backup camera wont work

make sure your backup lights are coming on. if the backup lights are working when in reverse then most likely you have a bad camera or loose connection. also may want to check for power to the camera ( fuses/circut).

I have a 2004 Lexus RX330 and last week the backup camera stopped working for two days then it worked for a day and now it is again not working. Here is the problem when I put the car in reverse it is as...

With a backup camera I installed on my wife's Pathfinder, there was a power wire that connected to the backup light power. So when the backup lights came on in reverse, the camera got power, sent a video signal to the dash radio screen, and it would automatically switch to that input. You might have a bad wire/connection supplying power to the camera.
