Our Dodge grand Caravan 1995 has been acting up with erratic heating since last month. Although the gauge shows the engine has heated, it takes approximately 25 mins for warm air to blow. I've checked the coolant levels and all seems OK. This week, the gauge soared to high and the temp light came on. When the heat was cut off, the gauge levelled out. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a stuck thermostat. The thermostat cycles open and closed in order to maintain a temperature range, some cars with very sensitive gauges reflect this opening and closing, but most cars have gauges that are somewhat less responsive in order to keep people from thinking something is wrong. I would defineately replace the thermostat and flush the cooling system, replacing the fluid with fresh.

Heat IS blowing out on drivers side, BUT it wont get hot ?
As long as you have heat, but not on passenger side, I would say your diverter is door is not operating, may be vacuum , or electrical, check under dash make sure no vacuum lines are leaking.

just because the gauge seems normal doesnt mean the thermostat is good, its 5 years old,and may be opening to soon, i would start by having the t-stat replaced and while thats being done have the cooling system flushed including a flush off the heatercore. i ve worked on a couple of these vans with heating problems, most were low on coolant due to a slow waterpup leak, the others with half plugged heatercores, due to the lack of coolant flushes. hope this helps.
