By design the dam catches air and diverts it up to the radiator. With out the dam the cars engine will run warmer of could over heat. Please rate the quality of this answer. if it is a thin small bent piece of metal . all it does is make a chirping or screech why it is time to change your pads. you dont really need it ,as long as you check your brake pads and rotors, so they dont cut into each other.it just warns you that the pads are due to be changed

It should be the same as the ones from the late 90's. You have 3 pieces there. The metal piece comes out the bottom of the mirror and should have a piece of plastic attached to it. It is a friction fit with the actual mirror so it shouldn't require a lot of hammering or even hard hammering.
Once the mirror is off there should be a small slot in the remaining plastic and metal. Use a small screwdriver or something similar to push in on a clip that is inside and the plastic and metal should separate. Hope this helps.
SOURCE: I replaced the heater core
there should be a clip on the lever that holds the link on--is that missing?
SOURCE: when u come out reverse the gear stick goes stiff,
Hi,
Fiats do not enjoy a sound reputation for their transmissions. If you are confident in your skills, remove the cover / boot that surrounds the gear stick. and check it carefully for fitting into the housing. There may be a plastic of fibre cup that the ball of the gear stick rides in. depending on the locating device for this "bearing" will affect the movement of the gear stick. If you can lift the gearstick and it shows lots of slop, then the 'bushing is no longer holding the gearstick in the correct neutral position which enables each gear, including reverse, to be selected easily. The reason for the 'bushing' failing will have to be ascertained, it may be a simple fix, or it may be lots of aggravation, depending if the parts are all present and can be salvaged.
Good luck.
