Used car, rear tires are wearing on the inside. had ball joints, sway bars & ty rods replaced in front. 4 wheel alignment, 4 new tires. less than 3000 miles my rear tires were down to steel on inside. (right side a little worse tham left) took car back & was told i needed new loaded struts. had them changed elswhere put 2 new tires on & they are still wearing on the inside. was present during inspection and shown & told all bushings & everything else looked fine.
It sound like the Camber is off in the rear. Did you have an alignment done after the new struts wear installed?
no i havent, is it ness.? was told there was no adjustments to be made.
Their is adj in the rear. The lateral arms in the rear. Have a bolt where they attach to the frame have cam on the to adj camber.hope this helps

It is true that driving with different size tires can damage the transfer case, depending on how long it was driven like that. But--- even if the tires are the same size it can cause this. if the tires are worn and two tires are new the circumference of the tires must not be more than 1/2 inch difference from each other, take a tape measure and put it around the tire in the center and measure the difference of each tire

Hello;
To check ball joints is relatively easy. There is a load carrying ball joint and a pivot ball joint. The pivot joint gets minimal wear. To check the load ball joint, jack up the wheel to be checked. With about an 1" of clearance off the ground, place your hand on top of the tire and wityh a long sturdy bar under the tire, move the bar up and down. Feel for lateral movement at the wheel. you want to make sure that the wheel bearings are good and the movement is slight if any.

Also check the bushings on the links that connect the lower control arm to the front stabilizer bar. There are two bushings on each side, one on the top and one on the bottom. If these are worn you will hear a rattle, particularly when hitting a bump or pothole. If they are the stock ones and need replacement, you probably will not be able to get the nuts loose on them. Just use an angle grinder or cutting wheel to cut them off and replace them. Most auto parts stores carry the kit that includes the bolts, nuts, washers and bushings needed for both sides.

just bushings. unless the bar itsef is damaged (cracked, bent, broke, etc) just replace the bushings.
