This can happen a couple times a day or it can go out for days or weeks or work just the same. Also, when the electrical is out, the car starts when the key is turned to on before it gets to the start position.
SOURCE: car dies while driving
I bought my 89 Reatta in 2000 with less than 10,000 miles on it. It ran perfect for a couple of months and then it would just die for no reason. No lights-nothing. This would seem to happen more often as I drove it. I finally zeroed in on the battery connector as the problem. I had my local Goodyear dealer replace the positive cable with a different type of connector and the problem disappeared. It has not ever happened again since replacing the battery cable. I hope this helps you.

i had the same problem on my '92 Lesabre ltd. All you need to do it is get the rust off your battery cables, use the wire brush to scrub the contact surfaces. also use a wrench to tighten the bolt to the battery, take precaution as to not to tighten too much , it might beak the battery threads.

I also have a 95 regal you will want to check the fuel pump relay switch which is located under the hood in the front fuse box on the passenger side also check the wiring underneath the fuse box also you may have a broken wire

If your car dies suddenly and otherwise runs fine, the root of the problem is an electrical problem or electronics/computer related. Even though it could be a fuel shut off that caused the car to stop. The "brain" controls ignition and fuel thus my assessment. Have the codes read to see if a problem is indicated with the computer or sensors. Since it is an intermittant problem, it is possible your code reads will still be normal. Check all connections if you don't get a coded problem. Good Luck!
