She started fine this morning. I warmed her up, she ran fine up the road to the store. I of course shut her off..When i tried to start her she stuttered and stalled.. I had the gas pedal to the floor and she stuttered home. Now she starts but won't stay started..I have to really put the pedal to the floor to keep her from stalling.. And when we hobbled back home, i had to keep pushing the gas pedal... but she wouldn't go.....
Is the check engine light on.
Testimonial: "Thanks, that is what I figured.."
no it is not... ok when it stalls check engine, and oil light do come on...
but the check engine light isn't on when it is stuttering away...
then you have a fuel problem. as a fuel pump are fuel pressure regulator
if the light was or is on then your problem is with something the computer runs, but there is no light

Could have plugged exhaust system or fuel filter clogged or could have contaminated fuel which has water in it.
SOURCE: jetta 95 won´t start
Moisture in your ignition system can cause this to happen , start with a cap/rotor and wire replacement. More then likely this will cure your rainy day blues.
