How to get to rear seat driver's side fuse box?

The manual says to lift the carpet, but that isn't enough information.

Open the rear doors Follow the carpet to the bottom of the rear seats. You will see staples along the carpet. (This is to adhere Velcro to the carpet.) Separate at that seam. Reach in and pull the carpet forward. The Fuse boxes are long narrow black boxes. (its tight and you have to use some force to pull the carpet back. Fuse boxes are located on both the driver side and passenger side. Good luck!

This is a good description but I think missing a couple things. I started by first pulling up the plastic door threshold. I did it by hand but you could use a flat piece of plastic to lever it up. The part of the threshold toward the front of the door opening that is continuous up the door post needs to be loosened at the front edge of the removed threshold but not removed. Also take off the plastic cover just under the far left side of the seat. It just popps off and take note of it's orientation for replacement later. When you pull back the velcro connection behind the staples directly under the seat it folds up and the carpet you want to pull forward is exposed but really tightl against the back. So begin pulling the carpet forward toward the outside of the car being careful to keep the velcro from reattaching. Pull hard and you will expose the plastic fuse box. Leave the carpet on the drivetrain hump end pretty much in place. The fusebox cover comes off vertically by pressing on the latches at the narrow ends. There is a fuse diagram in the owner's manual although you'll need a magnifying glass to read the ledgend.

This procedure worked for me, I was able to excess the fuse box, it did require a bit of strength to remove the molding at the base of the door frame, I would suggest doing this outside with good lighting and not inside a garage with a trouble light.

Hello! I have a 2005 Cadillac CTS-V Both the right and left brake lights stopped working at once. The center brake light on the trunk still works. I was googling to see how to change the bulbs but it...

I assume the solution is the same in a CTS as a CTS-V. Remove the plastic molding facing the rear. There are four plastic screws, Unscrew and lift the spare tire cover. Unscrew plastic screws on carpet covering quarter panels pull back for room to work. Each light assembly has two nuts, remove these and assembly will slide out for easy replacement. Since both lights stopped at once, the fuse may be the issue. The fuse box is under the rear seat cushion, behind the driver. Pull the seat up and forward. Pull levers out on each side of fuse box cover and lift. The diagram is inside the fuse box cover. It'll take a 15V. Note: Please take care in replacing and seat and proper seat belt placement. While you're in the backseat, check all the fuses, there's a second fusebox on the passenger side. Also, check floor behind driver's seat for wetness and water. That could cause a short as well. Good luck!
