Could be faulty engine coolant temperature sensor but sound like engine not getting enough fuel could have clogged fuel filter or fuel injectors need cleaning.

Sounds like the automatic choke control on the carburator is shot! It is stopping the proper flow of gas from getting to the engine...replace it! Also make sure you have recently replaced the fuel filter; moisture in the gas will stick to the filter and freeze up making it hard for gas to get through!

In my 1992 it is underneath the dash on the passenger's side, but you have to take the whole front panel including the glove box off to access it. When that is done there is a rectangular housing and a more circular housing. On the bottom of the circular housing there are three screws that hold the blower motor up. Remove the screws and it will drop right out.

the fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank. drop the fuel tank and unscrew the top of the fuel pump and replace the fuel pump

next time it stalls pull the plug wire from the spark plug. have an extra spark plug with you and stick it in the boot. lay it across a known ground and turn the car over. its probably not firing.. sounds like its an ignition module faulty that acts up when it gets hot
