'99 CR-V troubleshooting fuel system

Hello, Vehicle started right up, ran perfect for few minutes, then started running poorly. Changed fuel filter. Same problem, seems to get worse when driving? Thinking fuel pump or relay, how do you troubleshoot to know which to replace? Or, could it be an injector issue? 191k miles. Thanks!

Could be a fuel regulator also. I would start by checking the fuel pressure with a specialized gauge. The range varies for every auto depending on where you hook up guage you will have some pressure loss, but it should be only a few pounds. I would check for power at the pump also, should be battery voltage. The relay is easy to check, just swap out the relay with one door another one that matches, like for the fan or Windows etc. Look for an embossed number on the relay, to make sure. Make sure to put it back. And replace if that fixes the issue. There's may be a code that could set the dash light on. It may also have residual codes that don't set off the light. An injector issue should ping a specific cylinder with a code. The fuel pump would cause all cylinders to set off codes.

SOURCE: 2000 Honda Passport Fuel Issue?

I have a 2000 Honda Passport. Once mine stalled, it would not restart. Sounded as if out of gas. I thought fuel pump. Took it to service station. They found a short in the electrical system. The fuse kept popping. They replaced blown fuse in coil and module. They tested misc wiring in main harness. They found and repaired bad wires in main harness for module and coils in left front inner fender. My check engine light was on for several months. Since I got it back from repair shop, it has finally gone off! I hope this helps! Good luck!

96 E250 300 ci Was running perfect then started missing Replaced vacuumed hoses, found 1 loose spark plug, and 3 that were finger tight. Replaced all 6 plugs.

If your 96 E250 300ci was running perfectly and then started missing and the code is indicating a miss fire in cylinders 1 and 2, there could be a few potential causes. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
  1. Check the ignition system: Make sure that the ignition system is functioning properly. Check the distributor cap, rotor, spark plug wires, and ignition coil for any signs of wear or damage.
  2. Check the fuel system: Make sure that the fuel system is functioning properly. Check the fuel filter, fuel pressure, and fuel injectors for any signs of wear or damage.
  3. Check the compression: A compression test can help to determine if the engine is getting enough compression to run properly. Low compression in cylinders 1 and 2 can cause the engine to miss fire.
  4. Check the vacuum lines: Make sure that the vacuum lines are properly connected and not leaking. Any vacuum leaks can cause the engine to run poorly and miss fire.
  5. Check the PCV valve: The PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve can become clogged or malfunctioning and cause the engine to run poorly and miss fire.
  6. Check the EGR valve: The EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve can become clogged or malfunctioning and cause the engine to run poorly and miss fire.
  7. Check the Engine Control Module: The Engine Control Module (ECM) controls the ignition and fuel systems and if it's malfunctioning it can cause the engine to miss fire.
It's important to note that some of these steps may require special tools and knowledge of the vehicle's engine system, so it's best to take it to a professional mechanic to avoid causing more damage.

My 2013 Honda CR-V is the hardest starting vehicle I have ever owned. Is this a known problem others have had, & what could be the cause? Battery is new.

The Honda CR-V is usually reckoned to be an easy-starting reliable vehicle.

It takes much more than a new battery...

In order to start and run an engine needs: -
a good cranking speed,
the right amount of fuel delivered into the combustion chamber at the right time,
good compression,
and a spark sufficient to ignite the fuel at the right time.

It is clear at least one of the requirements is absent and only systematic testing will discover which. The cause could be anything from a poor electrical connection to bad injector spray patterns, one or more tired sensors or even bad intake valve seats.

Why doesn't my brother's jeep run?

My 1996 GM Safari V6 4.3L had a similar problem... ran poorly for a day. Next day it started and ran a few blocks and died. Sometimes it would start and die or not start at all.
I had no codes to check, but it felt like a fuel problem...and that's what it was. I changed the fuel pump. Running perfectly ever since.
Check your fuel filter and fuel pressure. If your Jeep has a whole lotta miles on it, that could be your problem.
Good luck. I hope this helps.

Car just cranks wont start

Rather then just replacing parts (guessing) Take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop that has the diagnostic equipment an knowledge to diagnose it . Because it doesn't sound like you have any diagnostic skill's or knowledge . It takes year's of training to become good at diagnosing drivabillity problems . Is the security light on or flashing ? Anti-theft system problem ?

I have a 1997 Pontiac grand prix supper charged GTP I believe i ran out of gas and I put gas in it and it didn't start so my mechanic said I flooded the fuel filter so he changed iit but now it starts but...

Its more than likely the fuel pump . Giving the year and the symptoms . You may have not ran out of gas in the first place it may have actually been the fuel pump . You are probably just getting enough gas in it to start and then cut out right away.

91 olds cutlass supreme runs rough and wont stay idle.

If your vehicle is fuel injected I would say you have a blown fuel regulator. This would cause excess fuel into the cylinders (flooding) causing a miss and coughing and also blow fuel into the air breather. If will also cause the vehicle to run poorly and could cause the vehicle to stall. Also to much fuel on startup can flood the cylinders and cause the vehicle to no start.

My 91 cutless ran out of gas one day and has never ran right since. Replaced ever sensor on the car, fuel pump every thing. Runs good for 2 or 3 days and then it won't stay started. Went out few mouths...

You may have loaded a fuel line or connector up with contaminants. What else is happening during the second or 3rd day of running? Is it running low on fuel? Try to make a list of your gauge set! It only makes sense.
