2.0L only. 7 engines listed in fsm
intake= 0.0012-
exhaust= 0.0022- all below 100F.

but>>. that was just a wild guess on engine.......

no engine stated, Gen7 Civic non Hybrid?
no country stated, diffr, countries get diffr engines....!
in USA open hood, now look up, under hood see EPA sticker and Engine type stated.
lots and lots of engines, in 2004 they introduced the K- series
i-VTEC? S or SI>?
DOHC engine
here they all are. K20A" but which one? A1? Z3? what>?

Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Note the radio security code and the radio presets.
that means record them now. pen to paper.
Remove the cylinder head cover retaining bolts. Remove the cylinder head cover from the engine.
Set the number one piston at TDC. The punch mark on the variable timing control (VTC) actuator and the punch mark on the exhaust camshaft sprocket should be at the top. Align the TDC marks on the VTC actuator and exhaust camshaft sprocket.
Using the proper gauge feeler gauge, adjust the valves on cylinder number one.
Rotate the crankshaft 180 degrees. Using the proper gauge feeler gauge, adjust the valves on cylinder number three.
Rotate the crankshaft 180 degrees. Using the proper gauge feeler gauge, adjust the valves on cylinder number four.
Rotate the crankshaft 180 degrees. Using the proper gauge feeler gauge, adjust the valves on cylinder number two.
Install the cylinder head cover.
As required, on 2001-05 vehicles, reprogram the ECM engine idle characteristics. Be sure all electrical items are OFF.
Start the engine. Hold the idle speed at 3000 RPM's in neutral until the radiator fan comes on or the temperature reached 194 degrees.
Let the engine idle for about five minutes with the throttle fully closed.
If the radiator fan comes on during the five minutes, do not count this toward the five minute programming time.
Set the clock.
As required, reprogram the power window control unit as follows.
Turn the ignition switch ON. Lower the window, all the way down. Open the driver's side door.
Turn the ignition switch OFF. Push and hold the drivers window DOWN switch. Turn the ignition switch ON. Release the driver's window DOWN switch. This must be done within five seconds.
Repeat the above step three more times. Wait one second.
Confirm that the AUTO UP and AUTO DOWN do not work. If they work repeat the procedure, paying close attention to the five second time limit
Move the driver's window all the way down by holding the drivers window DOWN switch to the AUTO DOWN position.
Pull up and hold the driver's window UP switch to the AUTO UP position until the window reaches the fully closed position. Hold the switch for one second.
Confirm that the power window master switch has been reset by using the driver's window AUTO UP and DOWN function.
If the AUTO UP and DOWN feature is still not working, repeat the complete procedure, paying close attention to the five second time limit.

powered? the motors are hot full time?
all windows?
with all electrics, and electric motors (DC)
its this simple. (buy and use a DMM) any volt meter made in last century works.
1: bad fuse. dead motors.'
2: bad wires or connectors
3: switches bad , stuck closed or will not close.

you can start at either end. at the fuse end.or at the motor.
if there 12v on the motor, with up pressed?
yes, bad motor bad ground to motor , or window guides jammed.
no, bad switch,
switch is ok , the input to switch is bad. fuse bad.
no year stated so can answer with wire colors or pin numbers
or with schematics.

When opening or closing drivers door, the window opens 5" instead of usual 1/2" and does not auto close. Also after operating window switch, onetouch or holding, the window lowers or raises and then stops...

what car

electric windows.
can fail for 3reasons
power does not reach the motor.
motor is bad
the guides are seized.

some times, the motor seems good but is weak, bad internal
commutator. (2/3s power)?

use a voltmeter see if 12v reaches motor on demand (push switch)
if that is ok, we have it down to 2 problems in 5min flat.
you could then disconnect the motor, and see if the windown
can be operated by hand, if not , its jammed
if you can , then the motor is bad or weak.

you are now IMPOWERED.

My passenger side front window (England, left) dosnt work properly. It goes down ok but it will not go back up unless operated by the drivers doors. (England, Right)

Hi, has your car got global closing. Sometimes they forget their memory, normally after pulling a fuse or flat battery. Open all your windows, sunroof if you have one. Press the lock on your fob and keep held down, all windows should close, this also works for opening when you keep hold of the open button, try doing this a few times, eventually it restores memory. I also have a 2001 focus.

It is a common problem that may be quickly remedied. Try this....spray your door hinges with a good penetrating oil...then work them back nd forth as to open and close. You are possibly losing ground.Also check to be sure you have a good ground from the body to engine.Hope this helps

Back window doesnt roll down properly when you open the door, so I have to push it down a little before I close it. Also the lock bottom for the windows doesnt work.

dis-connect your battery for 30 seconds to do a switch reset on your window, when you reconnect the batt your window will go down, open and close rear door to check lock functions ok first. close rear door and using key or switch inside car close window fully with out stopping, this should reset the window.

They are ELECTRIC....... things happen like this......When the contacts don't touch they won't move. Try taking the switch from the door the window is down and wiggle it or clean the contacts...good luck. Replace the switch..'gona give you trouble down the road again !!!!!!

Sticky windows

Have taken car into a dealer and have been advised that if battery has gone flat, the sensors will need resetting, to do this, disconnect freshly charged or replaced battery for two to three minutes, reconnect, turn key to position two and operate window. Hold button down and wait for click (window open), close window and hold button in close position until you hear the click. This should reset the sensors to open and close positions. Juddering maybe caused by build up of grime in slider, squirt some silicone based lubricant into window slider/guide, this should help. If none of this helps, it could mean that the motors need replacing.

POWER WINDOWS NOT WORKING & POWER WINDOW/REGULATOR ISSUES

It can be issue with motor itself. If it's not going up, then how its working down. But still it feels like weak window motor or is issue with power window switch. Get the voltage tested at switch and motor. Also try another working window motor at not working window side.

When the window goes down, watch the door frame, where the window sits in and watch as it goes up. If the frame moves or torques, it may be a slightly bent window frame in the car door. I've seen this happen. Why doesn't this bind the window as it goes down? Simple. Law of physics. More pressure is applied to the frame as it goes up and not down. It's just like riding a bike. You expel more energy getting the bike moving up a hill than down one. Same principle. So when the motor goes up, pressure is applied, causing the frame to move and bind the window.

The best way to resolve this, if this is the problem, would be to take both hands and try to bend the frame. If you can't do this, use two standard screwdrivers. Make sure the window is down before you do this, or you could crack the window. Hope this helps.
