Replaced coil and all is good. Starts in rain, snow or cold weather now!

The ignition coil is the most likely cause. My 94 Dodge Dakota had the same problem. Cheap and simple fix.

If it cranks good when the problem is ongoing, have a helper crank it while you visually check for spark at the plugs, if spark everywhere, use a gage and check fuel pressure.

How long since a tune-up?

My 1991 plymoth colt gl wont start in cold weather

look at the ignition bypass resistor. It's on the firewall close to the brake master cylinder. It provides full battery voltage while cranking and then runs at reduced voltage the rest of the time. Your ignition switch controls it's operation, so look for a faulty ignition switch too.

Truck wont start

1.) spray engine starting fluid into air intake ---remove air filter if necessary.
2.) if ignition only on this spray, then seek bad fuel supply problem.
3.) if no ignition, check for spark.
