SOURCE: Need to change the front side marker bulbs

Do not attempt to remove the housing. Attack from the underside. Turn the wheel so that it points out. Pull back the thin black covering in the wheelwell part way. This is done by starting at the front of the car and part way up the wheelwell. You will need to remove two screws and one black snap button. (If the button breaks, you can get them at the dealership for pennies.) You should now have access to the bulb socket. Entire process should take approximately 10 minutes.

SOURCE: Remove and Replace Turn Indicator Bulb

Resolved! I finally just put the bulb in the palm of my hand and put my fingers on the plastic socket (which I had given the quarter turn to release from the housing) and gave it some good firm pressure and it snapped/locked into place.

Turn Signal/Marker Light REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

  1. Remove the one retaining screw from the upper corner of the lens.
  2. Tape the end of a pry tool, then carefully extract from the bottom of the lens in a rocking motion till the stud is loosened from the retainer.
  3. NOTE: Do not pry from the back of the lens, this will crack the lens or damage the paint.
  4. Pull the lens assembly straight out from the body towards the front of the vehicle.
  5. Twist and remove the wiring from the back of the lens.
  6. Twist the bulb and remove it from the socket.
Fig. 5: Once the bulb is removed, inspect the socket for corrosion 90916p10.jpg
To install:
  • Before installing a light bulb into the socket, ensure that all electrical contact surfaces are free of corrosion or dirt. NOTE: Before installing the light bulb, note the positions of the two retaining pins on the bulb. They will likely be at different heights on the bulb, to ensure that the bulb is installed correctly. If, when installing the bulb, it does not turn easily, do not force it. Remove the bulb and rotate it 180 degrees from its former position, then reinsert it into the bulb socket.
  • Insert the light bulb into the socket and, while depressing the bulb, twist it 1/8 turn clockwise until the two pins on the light bulb are properly engaged in the socket.
  • To ensure that the replacement bulb functions properly, activate the applicable switch to illuminate the bulb which was just replaced. If the replacement light bulb does not illuminate, either it too is faulty or there is a problem in the bulb circuit or switch. Correct if necessary.
  • Install the socket and bulb assembly into the rear of the lens housing; otherwise, install the lens over the bulb.
  • Insert and secure the lens assembly into the body of the vehicle.

2007 Uplander. The tail lights on the driver side will not come on, but they are working on the passenger side and the front. The brake light and turn signal work on the problem side and all the other...

GM doesn't have the best tail light setup. do you own a test light? You should start at the back. The turn signals and hazards use one bulb. The brake light uses another bulb. Remove the bulb and carefully test for ground and power. If it is there then it is either the bulb or related contacts. If power or ground is not there then unplug the tail light assemble and test for power or ground again. The tail light circuit board is notorious for going bad. Please start here and write back if you need further help.

Drivers side turn signal blinking fast other side normal, bulb change didn't help

Even after bulb change, do all lamps work? Bad ground can be shown by weak or dim bulb sometimes and this can cause fast flashing. All bulbs which flash must be working and of normal brightness which is sometimes hard to tell when they blink really fast.

Driver front turn signal does not blink. front

This may have more then one bulb in the front or possibly a bad socket try wiggling the new bulb in the socket to see if it will work.Compare all turn signal lights that come on the passenger side to those drivers side. Some vehicles also incorporate sidemarker lights with the turn signals.
