Need window wiring harness schematics for 2002 Saturn sl1

a short in wiring -bad switch - shorted motor --overheated / overloaded motor ---need to remove door panel to test wiring and components

Most auto parts stores carry Haynes Manuals. You can order them from Haynes if needed. Or...often they are carried in your local library.

I have done Ford and Toyota clutches using these books. Clutch replacement is not hard, just time consuming...And easier if you have a lift.

Note: If like many vehicles, don't forget to replace the engine rear main seal while you have access with the fly wheel off.

You can call Haynes and ask specifically if the book covers the repair you are attempting. I have called them to get more specific wiring diagrams not always provided with the books. Very helpful in providing tech data... I have a Haynes manual for all my vehicles...makes maintenance and repair much easier than researching every I need to do something to my vehicles.

Change your ECTS sensor with a brass one, it's the water temp sensor you can buy it at auto zone for 8 dollars and replace it yourself, make sure you get a NEW wire plug harness for it probably about 10 or 15 bucks, it gets corroded then the computer reads the wrong engine temp then it makes the idle rough and run rich.

Voltage drop testing the starter electrical circuit would be a good first step , ruling out the cable's connections an ground !
Starter Voltage Drop If this doesn't find a problem ,then check the control side . Ignition switch , when it won't start check for Battery voltage at the connection at the starter solenoid "S" terminal .

Check the Switch it self, it may be bad or dirty. You can try the button on the up position and wiggling the switch or better yet switch the switch with the passenger side. Just to see if the windows go up. If the window went up then the switch is bad and replace the switch. Believe the Salvage yard is like $15.00 there, not sure how much for switch at Auto Zone.
As for cleaning the switch, go to Radio Shack ( The Source in Canada) and buy electrical board cleaner and spray the switch after removing it from the body trim. 
If it's not the switch, then it may be the power window regulator it self and that's going to be lots of time and lots of band aides. 
Good luck and hope this helps. Check by the door hinged where the wire harness goes from the body to the door, it's inside the rubber tube like boot. Give that a tug or tow while trying the switch just to make sure the harness does not have a broken wire. Keep me posted.

looking at the motor follow the plug wires down to the coil pack located lower middle of engine.take wires of making note were they are posistioned unplug electrical connection should be 3 bolts 10mm. heads.then remove
