Remove the retention screw above the headlamp, and pull it straight out towards the front of the car. Note that it may be slightly difficult to pull, you have to defeat a retention tab that holds the rear of the lamp assembly.

SOURCE: reverse suddenly quit 95 toyota camry 4cyl auto

Check your transmission fluid level asap. if the level is good, you will need to inspect the shift solenoids located inside the transmission pan. replace any solenoids that are proven to be faulty. i would also advise to test the pcm/tcm for its operational value as well. this device controls the shifting patterns of the auto trans.

while checking the solenoids, if you notice any metal fragments on the bottom of the pan, this will be a sign of major gear friction. you should re build in this case.

SOURCE: whine from 2005 corolla automatic transmission

Have the tranny serviced with fluid change and filter, if noise it still there it is the torque converter . Have the dealer fix it ,and have it on paper with dealer invoice when it is done. Do all this before warranty expires. IT IS NOT USUAL for any car, Toyota included, to have tranny whine!!!!!

If that finds nothing wrong, remove the EGR valve and bypass tube and check them for cleanliness and blockages. If they are blocked, follow your maintenance manual's instructions for cleaning them out so you do not damage the valve, then replace them and reset the ECM.

I have an 95 corolla and it was auto and im convering it to stick and the tranny gos on not all the way i can cach one bolt but not all the way

Sounds like the clutch plate is not aligned with the transmission pinion. Also check to make sure the clutch plate was not installed in reverse. Your pressure plate should be installed flush with the flywheel. If you are not using a clutch alignment tool, you should.

2008 toyota corolla auto cpu be used on a manual gearbox

No. You cannot use an auto CPU on a manual transmission. The values are markedly different, and the auto cpu has the additional features that relate to the auto trans. I would not try it, you may damage your wiring harness.

'95 Corolla Engine Question

An engine from another Corolla up to 1997 will fit. There are 2 engines though. 4A-fe (1.6L) or a 7A-fe (1.8L) They look similar but run different Engine managment computers. The 4A-fe uses a 3spd auto trans and the 7A-fe uses a 4spd auto trans. Also some of the wiring may be different.
Hope this helps.

I have the same problem with my 95 Toyota T100. My O/D off light started flashing when my speedometer cable broke this week-end. I assume the electronic transmission is using the speed data to manage the overdrive.
Have your speedometer problem fixed and your flashing light will turn off.
