First thing first are you sure that your BCM box is bad what symptoms are you experiencing I had a similar problem just the other day I thought my BCM box was going bad my brake lights would come on and stay on and my cruise control would also not work do to my brake lights staying on I went on line to check this problem out and found out that this was an easy fix that my box might not be bad at all, if your having similar problems try this first go to your local parts store and buy you a tube of dielectric silicone compound unhook your ground cable on your battery go to your BCM box and remove the two big grey plugs once you have removed them open the tube of grease and put a finger full on your finger and rub it inside where the plugs go and spread it evenally as possible once done rehook your grey plugs and then replace your cover and then you can rehook your ground cable this is what i done to my car and it fixed my problem. hope this helps... Here also is the bulletin i went to just type in technical bulletin #08-05-009c and it will explain more about it.

SOURCE: Is it possible to program my keyless remote myself

Yup I agree with Mr.emissionwiz. I ran into the same problem a month ago. My remote entry got wet and had to buy one. Fortunately, I found them cheap on Ebay, but had to take the car to the dealership to get it programmed for about $50.

SOURCE: the engine light comes on and goes off in my 2006

You might want to check the MAF Sensor it's located on your air intake tube. Or check the connections between the tube and the air box and make sure they are connected tight. If this isn't the problem then one of your O2 sensors have failed and you should take it to any mechanic that fixes cars. The dealer will rip you off. But this is an easy fix.

If I lock my 2006 Chevy Cobalt, the security system will randomly lock and unlock the doors accompanied with the horn honking

I think you have a BCM - body control module problem ! The BCM controls the automatic door locks .
Automatic Door Lock Operation
This BCM controlled feature can be personalized to driver preference. Refer to Power Door Systems Connector End Views Personalization Description and Operation in Personalization.
The BCM will automatically lock the vehicle doors if the following conditions exist:
?ā‚¬Ā¢
All vehicles doors are closed.

?ā‚¬Ā¢
The ignition is in the ON position.

?ā‚¬Ā¢
The vehicle is shifted out of PARK.

The BCM will then unlock the doors when the ignition is placed in the OFF position. Do the exterior lights flash as well as the horn sounding ?
Body Control Module (BCM)
The
Content Theft Deterrent
system is an internal function of the Body Control Module (BCM) which utilizes class 2 serial data and various switch input information to perform CTD functions. When the BCM detects an unauthorized entry, it activates the horns and exterior lamps.
When the BCM detects an unauthorized entry, the BCM enters the alarm mode. The BCM activates the horns and exterior lamps for 2 minutes. This is followed by a 3 minute time-out with the horn no longer active. If no new intrusions are detected after the time-out, the horn is not active. The system must be disarmed or the intrusion condition removed after the time-out for the system to exit alarm mode.

Have a securety sysm

Turn your key on. Do not try to start the engine. Leave the key on for 10 minutes, until the security light stops flashing. Turn off the key when the light stops flashing. Then, turn on the key and crank the engine. It will start.

I am trying to find the location of the fuses for the brake lights on a 2006 Chevy Cobalt sedan

{: ) The stop lamp switch controls the on/off function of the stop lamps including the center high-mounted stop lamp( CHMSL). The stop lamp switch get its power from the Body Control Module (BCM). This power is also fused but is internal to the BCM. You need to check carefully the voltages at the stop lamp switch and its on/off function. If voltage is not present at the stoplamp switch, you can check the C4 connector(light gray in color) at the BCM if there is some loose connection. Otherwise the BCM may not be giving an output voltage and will need to be repaired/replaced. I hope the problem is not caused by the BCM.

I replaced the BCM on a 2007 cobalt with a used unit. With the replacement installed a P0315 code comes up and the motor won't turn over.

you tripped the PASS Lock 3 security system. you can try turning the key on for 10 minutes off for 10 seconds 3 times in a row or you can tow it to chevy and have them reset your BCM.

2006 chevy cobalt - door won't open

Start with the basics. Check the fuses (all of them) with a test light and be sure you have power to each and that they are good. Then be sure that the power lock relay is good by swapping it with another relay in the fuse block. If the fuses are good and the relay is swapped and the locks still aren't functioning, you may have an issue with the BCM. The BCM can be programmed to change the behavior, but if the car has had water damage, or other stress to the BCM (voltage, heat, etc.), it can sometimes damage the BCM and you will need to replace it and reprogram it at a GM dealership.
