Remove interior door trim. There will be screws as well as plastic pins that have to be pried out. Wind the window all the way down. There will be some tracks in the lift mechanism with rollers that are attached to the window frame. Locate and remove the bolts that secure the frame. The window should then come out.
The glass is held to the window track using glue which is available from your local dealer or you can purchase 2 part epoxy from Lowe's, that will work fine.

sounds like the track has been dismounted....try to pull off the inside door panel and look for any missing or broken bolts on the track itself... the track protrudes down to keep the window on track....if this is not a problem look at the glass itself...roll the window down a little to see the bottom of the glass. makes sure all of the mounting brackets are in place and secure..
you will have to replace the whole regulator. check with your local used parts dealer for cheapest price. those regulators can range from 100 to 300 dollars and in some cause more. also for temp solution shove a piece of cardboard between inside window felt and glass to create pressure. it will help hold it up through the bumps
probably need a new window regulator. ebay. 93 to 98 should fit.

this is from a 97 civic should be the same. remove the door panel. remove 1 screw and pull handle, remove 1 screw and plastic cover over door opener handle. remove speaker cover and three screws underneath. remover window crank. then remove the door panel (held on with plastic plugs...just pull panel toward youself).
to remove the regulator ("window crank gears") Remove the glass held in with two 10mm bolts. The regulator itself is held in with six 10mm bolts. Remove these bolts and remove the regulator. (installation is reverse). Note: pay attention to the Idler arm track (highlighted in green) I think this one is directional (the front has to be at the front and the back has to be at the rear)
From what you discribe I will guess this is a s10 blazer, as on this smaller blazer the glass is held into the tracks by clips the attach through very small holes. 1 on the top back edge and 1 on the front lower edge. These clips you can get from the dealer or just go by and autoglass shop.
