Replacement of the upper dash pad

the dash pad -upper section to windshield shouldnt have to be unless damaged by deployment the other 3 sections -airbag location the part in line with the ducting and the knee area usually are damaged during deployment and unless you have been trained ir have working knowledge if the air bag system would have a certified trusted auto body shop survey the damage and advise if any under dash damage is present --they can also show a dash break down diagram as well as correctly installing replacement airbag

junk yard --or dealer if your having problem online finding one the cheapest would be a u-pull-it yard but call bone yards in your area for your vehicle

disconnect the electrical connector for the air bags. it will be a yellow connector with a safety lock on it. then remove the dash board/pad turn upside down and unbolt the air bag. this is the simplified version. there will be some things that need to be undone from the dash pad.

Once you have the dash out. The airbag module is easy to replace. You can not just remove the panel in front of the air bag.

There is no user operated key to disable passenger airbag like on most newer cars, for what you are attempting just disconnect the battery! This should allow you to remove the dash without activating the airbag!

1. Disarm airbag Failure to do so may result in accidental deployment of airbag, possibly causing personal injury.
2. Turn ignition switch to the Off position.
3. Remove two upper panel cluster attaching screws, then pull trim plate out of lower retaining clips.
4. Remove two switch attaching screws, then switch assembly, Fig. 11.
5. Disconnect electrical connectors.
6. Reverse procedure to install noting the following:

After all work has been completed, rearm airbag

THE WHOLE HORN PAD AND AIRBAG IN STEERING WHEEL HAS TO BE REPLACED.BECAUSE HORN PAD BUILT IN THE AIRBAG.IF YOU GOING TO REPLACE AIRBAG IN STEERING WHEEL YOUR SELF. DISARM AIRBAGS BY FIRST TURNING OFF RADIO,THEN REMOVE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE,WAIT 20 MINUTES FOR AIRBAGS DISCHARGE.BEFORE REMOVING THE AIRBAG HORN PAD.

it is called the dash pad and disconnect the battery before toughing the air bag. you can usually remove the bolts from the back of it and remove the airbag

If you look under pasenger side dash at floor board you will see blower housing. unbolt it and you may have to remove one dash bolt at bottom pry dash out a little and remove motor

you may not always have to replace sensors, but you will have to change the airbag module (usually under front seat, sometimes in middle of dash) To remove the passenger airbag you have to take out the dash.
