The dealer said it was the heater/AC control box that is located up under the dash. I replaced that and it didn't fix it. I took it back and the said that while everything points to the control box it might be the blower. I put in a new blower and it STILL isn't working. What else is there to fix? (and it isn't the fuze) Thanks for any help
I'll tell you all. This is the problem with dealers and most garages now days. We'll take Jeff for instance. He took his car to a dealer(garages aren't much different) had it diagnosed. They tagged him with one of the most expensive parts. Why? Because if they are wrong, they can most likely fix the rest and still come out ahead. But Jeff decided to fix it on his own. Now he is it with a few hundred dollars out of his pocket and still no fix. Instead the diagnostic person didn't spend the full hour Jeff got charged for and decided to be a point and diagnose person. Jeff, I would go back and demand my money back. Jeff, your problem is electrical, You already replaced everything that could be wrong. Besides the wires. Go to the ground wires first, under the hood. At the blower and resistor. Use a volt/ohm meter to check. Set it to the lowest ohms. Probe the wires to engine and body grounds. You should have close to 0. up to 5 ohms is fine. over that replace the wire. Next do the power wire from the back of the fuse panel to the blower/resistor plug. Same readings apply. But I will too also guess, because Cadillac's rely heavily on grounds. You either have a battery to body ground issue, A engine to body ground issue, or a battery to engine ground issue.... I just fixed a ground issue on a Cadillac. Charged him $20. He had already spent over $800, plus Hundreds in tow bills from here to there, to have fixed. I even told him what was wrong and what to do. $20 included parts.
I have a 1990 Honda accord ex and just changed the fuse the back window heater works and all lights work on the console but it doesn't blow cool or hot air. What can be the problem? HELP PLEASE..
Hey Jeff, you did check fuse in fuse box on driver side,if good and secure, then it may be your blower motor resister,it's located by blower motor, controls the blower motor,if bad it won't run or just on some speeds,if part doesn't fix,Autozone will refund. You can't tell by looking at resister to see if bad. Here's a link to the blower motor resistor,
http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/D... Here's the blower motor relay.
the resistor, the blower and the controllerr are all brand new
Failure to maintain a 25 mm clearance (about an inch) between the spark plug wires and the HVAC blower motor may result in improper operation or failure of the blower motor.
The blower for this vehicle is on the fire wall about 3 inches from the Spark plug block which is sitting on top of one of the Valve cover

replace the relay , when a relay sticks like that , a good test is to slap it with something like the handle of a screw driver , see if it un-sticks , its not a fix , just a test . cheers'

The blower motor is on the passenger side of the front seats, pull the carpet back and you will see it there. Make sure it's not the little computer sitting right next to the blower instead of the blower. When you turn the temp down to 65 does the little orange colored AC button light up? If not, it's the climate control computer which is sitting next to the blower.

Have you tried smacking the blower motor? If it starts running after you hit it, replace it.

What is the best way to test the resistor? just Ohm it out?
Sorry the mechanic has already changed out the resistor and that didn't do it
