2001 Honda Accord Washer Issues

I just noticed that when I press the sprayer on my car it does absolutely nothing. The wipers don't move and the sprayers don't spray fluid. I replaced the washer pump when I got the car back in August and I am sure that isn't the issue since the wipers would still work if the switch was pressed. The wipers do work though when i turn them on with the switch. Could the washer switch be shot?

Sounds like you may need to change the washer fluid pump. They do go bad. It's located inside the washer fluid reservoir, which is in the front of the passenger's side wheel well, behind the front bumper.

Mercedes e220 rear wiper motor don working

Here are some more common problems.
  • Motor:
The wiper motor is commonly replaced and was often not the problem. Don't replace the motor yet. maybe it's not the motor. It could be a fuse or something at the wiper switch. The wiper motor has two windings, fast and slow. The wiper switch sends a ground signal to each motor winding. More often, there are problems with the relay, or at the wiper switch, or in the cable to the motor.
  • Windshield Washer:
Don't be too quick to replace the washer pump. The problem is often just a clog in the sprayer heads. You can clean out the sprayer holes with a needle, some have two holes, so look closely. Hope this helps.

I drive a 1995 Honda accord. The other day when it was sleeting my windshield wipers stopped working. It is not the motor or switch because I can turn the switch and hear the motor but the wipers don't...

Yes sir! In the future, be SURE the wiper blades are free to move before you turn them on.
Try to find a warm place to work. Remove the wirper arms from the car, you should need nothing more that a screwdriver to gently pry the arm loose from the shaft.
Now, you will need to remove the sheet metal louvred paned that has the two holes for the wiper shafts.
You might be able to do this without removing the hood of the car, maybe not.
That panel is held on with some screws and some plastic buttons, which love to break.
Under that panel is the wiper linkage and the motor.
If you will turn the wipers on now, you will see the motor is no longer hooked to the wiper linkage.
The assembly will come off the car as a unit when you remove 4 screws and disconnect the wiring harness joint.
I'd look for the replacement parts in a junk yard or on e-bay, since car parts stores do not sell replacement parts for this problem.
If you want, you could call a Honda dealer for parts, I don't think they have them, but maybe.
Be Blessed.

Turn on my wipers try to spray wwasher on winshield nothing happens ....what could be wrong?

A few possiblities. Lets start with the cheapest first. Washer fluid, could be low, I'd check it first. When you press the spray button you should be able to hear the pump turn on (usually ON the washer reservoir). If it turns on you probably have a leak or blocked line. If you don't hear it cut on I'd check your fuses and then check to see if it's getting power to the plug with a multi-meter or test light. If it's getting power and not cutting on then it's probably the washer pump. Hope this helps.

The windshield wipers to my Ford focus stopped working today. They worked for a little while & then stopped in the up position. You can hear the motor working but they don't move. You can move them...

Your wiper linkage has come off the wiper motor. To reconnect the linkage, first remove the wiped arms, the remove the wiped cowl. The wiper cowl bolts are located under the hood and screws through the spaces in the cowl. Reconnect linkage, reinstall cowl, reinstall wiped arms.

My widshield wipers dont work and the fuses are fine

To troubleshoot car windshield wiper problems, you need to thoroughly investigate problems with any of its operating parts. Here are some of the things that you need to check to determine why are your car windshield wipers not working.

Check Wiper Motor
The wiper motor is the driving force of the windshield wiper. Feel the motor and listen to a humming sound. If there is no humming, the motor is the problem. Check if the motor is working properly and see to it that its electrical connections are made properly. If you find that the motor is dead and beyond repair, get it replaced immediately.

Check For Break in Connecting Wires
The connecting wires of the motor sometimes go loose and that may cause the windshield wipers to stop working. Also check the battery plug connection which the motor has. Connecting the loose wires properly or fixing/replacing the plug might solve your problem.

Check Wiper Switch
Another wiper assembly part that can malfunction is the wiper switch itself. Check for switch malfunction and if you find that is indeed the problem, get it replaced from a mechanic.

Check for Bent Wiper Arms
Bent wiper arms can cause the operation of the wipers to be hampered. If the wiper arms are bent beyond repair, get them replaced immediately.

Check For Blown Out Car Fuse
A blown up car fuse could be the culprit that has stopped the windshield wipers from working. Check the fuse assembly under the dashboard of the car. Replacing a blown fuse might fix the problem of windshield wipers not working.

Windshield Wiper Sprayers Not Working - Things to Check

Sometimes the windshield wiper sprayer stops working which can be very annoying. The washer mechanism is a self cleaning mechanism for the windshield. Here are some of the things that you need to check in case it is not working.

Check Windshield Washer Motor
The windshield washer mechanism might have been impaired due to the malfunctioning of the wiper washer motor. Check if its working and get it replaced if it is beyond repair.

Check Windshield Washer Fluid Level
Sometimes the washer doesn't work because the washer fluid levels are not filled to requisite levels. Filling in fluid might restore normal functioning.

Check For Broken Washer Hose
The connecting washer hose that connects the reservoir to the nozzle, might be broken or worn out stalling the overall operation. Check the hose for leaks and get it replaced.

Check Washer Nozzle For Clogging
Last thing to check is the nozzle of the washer for clogging. An obstruction in the washer nozzle might be the reason for windshield wiper sprayers not working. Using a pin, clean the clogged nozzle. This might restore the sprayer to the normal working condition.
