SOURCE: Blows A/C out of Drivers Side, and Heat out of Passenger Side
It is the climate control under the passenger part of the dash. it is easy to fix any way it was for me on my 99 deville. Take the cover off and you should see the controller just about under the clove box it is about 3" X 3" has a rod connected to it and a electric connection on the top and 3 little screws holding it on. Just unscrew the screws and unplug the electric connection and unhook the rod.
Just ask for the climate control switch at the Cadillac Dealer the cost is about $160.

Check operation of passenger side air direction deflector vane in the heater ducting.
You may have a seized vane hinge or faulty actuating servo/control.
Testimonial: "thanks, after checking further it seems to be the temp actuator is not working."

I would guess that the control that changes the flow of air from one duct to the next is broken and likely have that one side in the closed position. Old systems used the slide lever to open and closed ducts, but newer stuff, especially cadillacs, use a lot of electronics so it is probably controlled by a motor. I would have some diagnostics done to see if the motor controlling your duct work has fried.

The engine coolant might be low as this could have air in the system and ait doesn't transfer heat like coolant does/ the heater core can be stopped up too and flushing it out is a good idea every year. there's no valve in the system so just blow it though with a garden hose and fill it with the right amount of coolant test drive and check the coolnt again. The 4.6 northstar is known for internal leaks and may be leaking. with the key on and the engine off inside the car and everything off except the heater on low move the temperture from hot to cold and listen for the air doors moving a clicking or poping sound is'nt what you want to hear so trace the sound and the air door motor that's clicking may need to be replaced.
1988 CADI Eldorado Biarritz, 4.5 liter v8: locked keys in car, called locksmith he put inflatable air bags in door to stretch 4 space to slide his crooked metal stick in and reach pull the handles, push electric door lock button/switch and manually but doors would not open. He than pulled the keys out of ignition and out the crack. Guess what, both doors sounded like they unlocked with the key but would not open. Is there some kind of anti theft protection that kicks in when you mess the doors and locks inside? Help, I have my keys but car doors will not open. Did stretching or forcing doors open a bit with these airbags possible cause damage?
