heres how it went. The check engine light came on on my 1995 mitsu eclipse. Friend was able to clear all the comp codes and the check engine light went off. Drove vehicle and put the code scanner back onto the car and it now read exactly like this P1400 Manufacturer Specific Powertrain Trouble Code. The engine light NEVER came back on only the scanner had this reading. Hope that was better to assist you in assisting me. Thanks for the time.

Hello, is this a turbo or non turbo?

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

P1400 is a Mitz Specific Code .Manifold Differential Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction-20 , there is a testing procedure but will require a break out test kit , or you might price out a MDP sensor . if its cheap enough , you might concider throwing 1 at it , i don't like throwing parts at cars .but if you don't have the proper testing equipment , gotta do what you gotta do... do you have the 2.0L turbo ? this code pertains to the 2.0L turbo engine .

The error is actually P1400 Manufacture Controlled Auxillary Emissions Controls. I'm having that issue with my 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse right now. Not to mention the bad paint job.

My malfunction indicator light of my Toyota camry 2000 is blinking and the car cannot accelerate well. my mechanic seems not to understand the problem. what ca I do?

When you said "...indicator light blinking," I assume you mean "check engine" light is on. Procure a check engine code reader and download the trouble code. When you isolate which component the trouble code is talking about, ascertain its not a faulty sensor. Read the code reader instruction and look up "clear trouble code" to turn off the "check engine" light. Replace the sensor first and see if it stops sending the trouble code. If the sensor is still sending a trouble code (check engine lights up again), then replace the component which the sensor is monitoring.

Coil battery circuit may be loose or corroded causing the recurring code/light . Which code number are you getting ? Have you cleaned the throttle body and IAC as that can cause idle issues .

What is troulbe code 12 And 55 on 1995 misubishi eclipse

ok code 12 means that you disconect battery recently, maybe you were trying to clear trouble code by doing that, in worst case just replace the battery not a big deal

Code 55 means "no Trouble codes found" code 55 means that thats the end of self testing codes, there is no mode code. just ignore code 55.

im pretty sure you were doing a selft testing dtc bye turning switch on and off.

My 95 eclipse is throwing codes 12, 31, 43, and 55 what do these codes mean?

12-cam shaft position Timing over retarded
31- HO2S heater Control Circuit Low (Needs a new O2 Sensor is what this is telling you)
43- HO2S Heater Control Circuit Low (Bank 1 Sensor 3)
55- HO2S Heater Resistance (Bank 1, Sensor 3)
All of those assume they are supposed to be preceded by a P00

If you are getting ODBI codes these are teh definitions you are looking for:
Code 12 Air flow sensor fault
Code 31 Knock sensor fault
Code 43 EGR fault
Code 55 AV valve position sensor

These may make more sense with that year model.

Where do I connect a code reader to a 95 eclipse gst

Look under the dash on the drivers side. There should be a port. Some have a plastic or rubber cover on them to keep them clean. It will be the same size as the end of the plug on the reader.
