Central locking fault on a audi a6

I have a problem regarding the locking system sometimes when i open the car in the morning all the windows will come down ( this would usually occur if you held the button down )
also while driving sometimes the doors try to open and close which activates the light in the front of the car which gets annoying and just recently on the odd occasion the car will not lock with the remote and the windows judder down at a slow speed.
this is doing my head in please help

My 2001 A6 TDI sometimes re-locks a second after unlocking. I really have to be quick to grab the door to open it before it locks again. Sometimes it cycles on its own while I am driving. That sounds similar to your problem.

SOURCE: audi a4 1995 central locking problem

Hi there.
I had exactly the same problem and there are 2 ways of solving it. The first is to pay your Audi Service Centre £350-£550 to replace it for you and the second way is to do it yourself which will cost well under £100 (depending on ebay). Firstly check the Central Locking Pump to make sure the hoses haven't come off. This is located in the very back right hand corner of the boot so you will need to remove the carpet and internal trim and you will see a block of sponge. Carefully lift the top off this and you will see the pump sat inside it.
Actually there is a great set of photos online to help you and I will add the link for you at the end. If the hoses are still connected and not leaking it is very likely that the internal compressor wheel has shattered (quite a common fault). I believe it is possible to open the pump and replace this wheel (in fact there is one for sale on a very popular auction site at the moment) but my own preference was to simply buy a whole new pump and replace that (£16.00 + £8 p+p off the same auction site).
The most important thing for you to remember is that when you look to buy a replacement pump you need to find one with the EXACT same serial number. The one in the diagram shown is
8LO 862 257 N but I have a sneaky feeling yours might end in an A.
Anyway, I hope this is of some help and dont worry about the connections as both air connectors and all 3 electrical ones are different sizes and will only fit in one place each.
Good luck.
Rik

SOURCE: remote central locking not working

As far as the central locking issue, it sounds like you need to replace your central locking pump. You can buy them online.
I have a 95 A6 and I am in the process of looking for a new central locking pump.
The part number may be 4A0 862 257 J, that is what it is for me.
There are directions online as to how to change this yourself once you get the part. If you buy from the dealership the part is $500.
Be thankful your child locks weren't engaged. We haven't been able to open our back doors since the pump went out.

I buy a audi A6 1998 and stop working and my friend say it's central locking module someone can help me out please

Does the motor turn over? If not is the battery dead? if not it could be your starter. I dont think its your central locking module. My understanding of it is that it runs your personal controls in the vehicle cab (windows, seats, radio ect) not the motor componeants

You really need a dealer to reset the anti theft and key recognition. There are very few independent shop who can successfully do this .

It does sound like you also might have drivers door micro switch fault...very common as the vehicle gets older . Have the shop can for faults in the body module. It will store a code if the door micro switch is not working.

If you like reading about VAG vehicles and seeing how to fix problems, try a visit to www.VWVotex.com where you will find the VAG community sharing the fixes and problems on these machines.

Central locking device on an audi a8 year 1999

Either one of the vacuum hoses has popped off or there is a leak in the system. The system uses a vacuum pump to push/pull air through hoses connected to actuators in each door..
Have someone activate the system while you listen in the trunk for the pump, find it and see if one of the hoses has fallen off there.

Audi A6 Anti Theft Central Locking Tantrums

Sounds like you are having problems with your built-in alarm system. Like most systems in your Audi, you can read the error codes stored in the controllers. It takes a tool normally only a dealer has (VW or Audi) or an adapter like the VAG Com. (Google it)

I also think you can disable the alarm system and just use the key.

Could the lock button on your remote be stuck? Use a different key/remote. (leaving the suspect key at home.) The keys/remotes can be taken apart....

Passenger door not opening with central locking

1st wind the glass down and turn the key in the driver door twice in clockwise direction to lock, at the sound of the second click try try opening the door thru the window (passenger) manually. you will need to pull the knob twice before it opens. you can get all the passenger doors open this way until you decide to change central lock system. To activate the remote; insert the key into driver door while pressing the lock or unlock button on the remote for at least five-ten seconds which should get it functioning normally again. hope this helps. it worked on mine.
