2012 Dodge Grand Caravan right power sliding door stuck open.

I successfully opened and shut the passenger side power door using the key fob. Ten minutes later I came back out to the van and I started to open it with the key fob and then it stopped after opening about 12 inches. It tried to go the other direction then stopped. The door will not manually or electrically move further than +/- 5 inches in either direction. It acts the same way manually or electrically. I had to remove the steel guide cable to get the door to close. It will try to open and close with the key fob but stays stuck open. It looks to me like the steel cable is stuck. After removing steel cable from the door I used the key fob and it pulled the cable towards the closed position. I am not sure what the problem is and/or how to check to see if the steel guide cable is stuck or not. This is the first time the van has been in below 30 degree Fahrenheit weather.

SOURCE: 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan side door does not automatically close.

sounds like the door sensor switch is malfunctioning and when almost closed it reacts like it is blocked (such and kid in way) and opens for safety. try flushing trach with hose and try again, if not u need a good repair manual such as chiltons($25 most parts stores ) or see mechanic

'06 Dodge Grand Caravan passenger side power sliding door problem.

Test the door by manually opening and closing it and seeing how it feels. If it's hanging up at some point it could be something in the track or just may need the rollers Lube

2007 Dodge Grand Caravan passenger power sliding door won't work

Most likely the problem is a broken wire in the harness - this is a common problem with these doors. You can see the harness in the track beneath the door sill. It is inclosed in a plastic 'chain like' mechanism. You can remove the entire harness as follows. Open the door 1/2 way and disconnect the connector on the inside bottom of the door. Pry out the fasteners holding the harness up to the door bottom support. remove the 2 screws on the bootm support cover. Carefully pry the end of the 'chain' down with a flat screwdriver.
Now pry up the door sill cover - it will just snap up. Pul back the door gasget at the bottom of the post and pry back the plastic post cover. You will find another connector under this near the seat belt mount. Disconnect this and barefully pry out the other harness attachments. A new cable runs about $70 from the dealer but I repaired mine. You cannot simply splice at the break because the break occured at the max stress point. Use a new piece of wire - I cut open a heavy duty extension cord and used on wire from it as these are designed to flex many times without breaking. Splice near the ends of the harness using crimps and/or solder and shrink tubing. Put it back and it should work.

2005 dodge grand caravan sliding door problems

could be a partially broken wire in the wiring harness that runs in the door track. the wires are inside what looks like a plastic chain that allows it to move with the door and have seen them partially break not allowing power to flow the whole time
