Weird problem. Went away on vacation for 4 weeks, left my car outside, when I came back my remote did not function properly. When I unlock the car with the key my alarms goes off. I have to insert the key into the ignition then the alarm stops.
My lock/unlock button doesn't not function either. I can lock all the doors with the button, but CANNOT unlock them. I cannot program the remote because the button does not function properly.
I tried unattaching the battery and reattaching it, but it did not help. I also tried replacing the battery in my remote.
Any suggestions or ideas? Thank you kindly

hi there
from what it sounds to me is that the alarm is still in anit theft mode
i had this happen to my vehicle
one thing you can try is lock all the doors try and unlock from the passenger side make sure that all the lock come up to the top where they should be
then try it
if that does not work then lift up the rear of the car like it was being towed and it should reset the alarm
short of that you will have to have alarm shop come to you

Even if the remote is fairly new they can lose their programming you may have to have it re-programed

The alarm system 'thinks' someone was trying to steal the car. You will have to reset it.
Try this;
remove key from ignition.
lock and open the car door with the key as normal.
or disconnect/wait a while/reconnect the battery
or you may have to contact the alarm manufacturer.

you need to reset alarm/immobiliser.lock car with remote, hold button down for 30 secs, then press/hold down unlock button, should reset.another way is with key in ignition/turned on, press alarm button down and hold for 30 secs.this resets immobiliser.toyota
systems vary..depending on market.
