Check the fuse to the fuel pump and make sure that the fuse is not blown.disconnect the fuel line at the fuel pump and see if fuel is coming out of the fuel pump, check the relay to the pump and make sure it's working.turn the key forward but don't start the vehicle and you should hear the fuel pump come on.if all of these are good change the fuel pump.

Engine hard to start after sitting

Sounds like it could be a carburator issue. Fuel could be leaking out of the fuel bowl or back to the fuel tank. You can tell this if you have the breather off and *before trying to start the engine* operate the accelerator arm on the carburator as you look down into the carburator. If the fuel hasn't leaked back you should see it shoot some fuel into the carburator. Also could be a fuel pump problem where the pump lets the fuel leak back and there isn't fuel there to pump up to start the engine when it's cold. Also the 360 wasn't released until 1971 so it's pretty safe to say it's not a 1967 or not a 360.

U can try that fuel filter. Or try to put gas directly to th carburator. Or try start fluid. To see if the problem is not gas in the system

1990 jeep yj 4.2 straight 6 carburated will turn over but will not start

First try shooting some starting fluid in intake manifold, and if fires up but still won't keep running, my guess next would be your looking and checking out your fuel pump. You can check that out my removing a line and see if fuel is pumping out of the out put of fuel pump. Because it it carburated its pretty easy to trouble shoot. It's going to be in most cases spark plugs , fuel pump.

On my 89 Pathfinder,I changed my fuel filter an it turns over but still won't start. can i spay the carburator w/ carburator cleaner. will that help

If you smell fuel in your carburator I would check to see if you are getting spark to the plugs.

You can take starter fluid and spray into carburator and see if motor fires, if it does you may have a fuel pump problem.
Hope this helps you!

No fuel to carburator. will start with starting fluid but will not stay running

can you hear the fuel pump run when you turn the key on, if yes then do a fuel pressure test, if good then check injector signal, you will need a fuel pressure guage and a noid light

Gas not getting to the carburator. Starter turns

Check all of the fuel lines very carefully for breaks or cracks in the fuel lines, especially between the fuel tank and the fuel pump.

If the fuel lines are all in good condition then you can safely assume that the problem is in the fuel pump and you will need to replace it. (If the fuel pump is in really bad shape the engine oil on the end of the engine oil dip-stick will smell like fuel)

Sounds like the fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, or a stuck needle and seat in the carburator.

Check for fuel pump pressure at the rail,if there is fuel pressure ,replace the ignition module, this pulses the injectors, and the spark.
