Key will not turn in the lock/non start

C320.02 auto.
The key will unlock the car but will not turn in the lock.have tried the spare key thats the same.

    Hello John,

    Ye,it will not turn take the lock off.

    I have tried what you said but still the same.



    It has just started to say on the HUD "computing data please wait"

    Its as if its the wrong key ???

I have an 02 Mercedes that has an electronic ignition switch control module bad. Mercedes want $930 to fix I can not afford that. They also say they will not sell me the part. Help any suggestions?

Hi, sometime the EIS module have the same problem. check the power supply in the EIS module 2 (+) plus supply red color and brown for ground supply. if the supply are available u have to order a new EIS module with programming key. ask me later if u'r going to install a new module. EIS/EIZ - electronic ignition control module.

Hi

I take it you mean it will not turn the steering lock ?

If so, try turning the steering wheel sharply to the left, and then to the right, whilst operating the ignition key to the start position.

I. make sure your battery is ok first.
2.using your key unlock and lock your drivers door a couple of times; then try starting the car.
3.if you have a spare key ' try using it to see if it start your car. if it start with spare key then your main key needs a new chip.

Hi Russell, Im AL the owner of Big As Auto Repair.

Russell, you cannot start a security installed vehicle with a none security key. If you have lost your key to the vehicle then here's what you can do. Take the last 8 of your VIN Number and your vehicle to the Mitsubishi Dealer and they can cut and program a new key to the security module. NOTE: Another way to do this is to have the dealer cut a new key for the vehicle and then call around to find a lock smith that has the ability to program the key to the vehicle. some cars have a set of keys
one that unlocks the door but does not start the car
one that may unlock the boot but not the car door

You may have a similar extra key !

Hi try operating with the spare remote to lock & unlock the doors & try the spare key to start may be the immobilizer playing up if it starts with the spare key it could be the transponder in the key itself wanting re programing

try it manually, tru key... if stock up or jam, check the key hole if something foriegn object was inserted or blocking the key passage... if non, spray it with wd-40 or any lubricating oil...

their is no doubt some way to reset it by turning the key so many times left and right ?? but try this ,and that put key in drivers side lock and lock and open three times slowly then open door on last attempt and try to start within 15 secs of opening the door lock ,also try the spare key in case the chip has fallen out of the key ??
