Ran out of gas and now it wont start

SOURCE: I ran out gas in my 1997 cad deville, put gas in, now wont start

if you were completely out of gas you can prime the car by turning the key forward until just before the starter engages and back off again. do this several times. doing this will allow the fuel pump to prime.

the fuel pump boot is full of debree off the bottom of the tank. two ways to fix the prob. 1 dont run it out of gas anymore, or 2 drop the fuel tank and clean it out

try priming the engine, turn key to run possition, wait couple seconds for fuel pump to kick in, ( humming sound). turn key off... do that 7 times and should bring fuel to the thottle body, cuz you ran it dry there probaby no fuel in the lines

if you let car run out of gas.it over heat fuel pump some times it damages it.it wont start again.

it doesnt have a carb its fuel injected so the pump may have gone out the fuel is also coolant for the fuel pump if its below 1/4 tank the pump doesnt cool off as well so if it was empty enough times you probably ruined the fuel pump
