'Sock', or fine mesh filter; in fuel tank is clogged. Attaches to the fuel pump. They have to be replaced, not cleanable. Fuel line filter is clogged. It's inline in the fuel line. Probably down on one of the frame rails. No fuel TO fuel line, bad fuel pump. (Or fuse is blown)

Ran out of gas, car wouldn't crank replaced fuel pump, fuel relay, and in line fuel filter and still won't crank on 2002 chevy avalanche

still won't crank ? how's your battery ? starter ? starter solonoid ? if your engine does'nt crank , its dead ! would'nt you check the battery first ? then move on with checking the starter circuit ? seems like your putting the cart before the horse ! first of all, when you run out of gas, you need to replace the FUEL FILTER, your engine just sucked the dirt, garbage, etc., out of the tank. there's plenty of sediment in the tank, don't know how it gets there, but, you'd be surprized ! talking threw experience !!! I operate heavy equipment, its a cardinal sin to run out of fuel !!! you say you replaced the inline filter, which one, up by the engine or the main filter, under vehicle along frame ? are we talking about the same animal, PLEASE CLARIFY !

Going threw to much gas

You either have a gas leak or a thief. Check the gas lines that run under the car and the connections under the hood

Front cylinder dumping raw fuel, exits under exhaust pipe. Cylinder not firing.

pull the vacuum line from the regulator and turn the key on and see if gas drips or sprays out from the nipple on the regulator if so that's your problem the fuel is going threw the line into the intake port

What would make my 1985 pontiac parisienne stall when i smash on the gas

I had the same problem in my 83. I went threw 3 fuel pumps before I dropped the tank and removed the clogged nylon strainer. It was easier then it sounds. Then I put a generic in line fuel filter to protect the fuel pump. Good luck and hope it helps.

2005 ford explorer spot trac acts like is running out of gas but has 1/2 tank

hi,

sounds like a combination bad vacuum leak and/or fuel. find the egr valve and temporarily plug the line going from and to it and test it, check all your vacuum connections, you would hear it hissing. those plastic vacuum connectors get brittle and crack about this time . Ive had a few electric fuel pumps fail that way, half dead. bout time for one of those. check fuel pressure also.if it threw a code and the check engine light is on then you can have the code read at autozone for free.

I ain't getting gas to my Carburator

Simple answer: no carburetor, you have a fuel injector for each cylinder. If car won't start, have your engine computer scanned for possible trouble codes. Autozone will do a scan for free. You need an OBD2 fault code scan.

It cranks but wont start. Checked for spark with the lead plug wire from the coil to the distributor cap. No spark. I changed the coil still no spark. I've been told its my fuel pump. But I've...

if you are sure there is no spark and you have replaced the coil, then the only other thing it could be is your spark control moduel.it works off your computer to tell your plugs when to fire..somettimes they go out only when they heat up and will start working again after they cool down,,but sometime they don"t give you any warning and just stop working all together.. would say you have a bad Spark Control Moduel.....it is pretty easy to fix, just make sure you use or buy the right tools to take it off , ask at the Auto parts store to get the right tool, and the right part..

My 1993 GMC 1/2 ton truck stopped suddenly and will not start.

The inline will not work,it can not get fuel threw the fuel pump in the tank, the fuel tank has to be removed, and the fuel pump changed out.
