1998 Volvo C70. Just replaced my battery, thinking the old one was dead. Solved the problem of all the electrical being dead but the car still wont start. doesn't even act like it wants to turn over. The alternator is fine, and i dont believe there is anything wrong with the starter. any thoughts?

Notorious on the C70 this problem but if you are not a qualified Vehicle electrician my advise is DONT TOUCH. The cables on a Volvo are interconnected with so many different systems, if a cable is broken best to run a separate set of replacement cables to the faulty area. The problem is Volvo security systems are interwoven into nearly all the systems, you could end up with more problems than you wished for. Like a dead vehicle because the immobiliser has been activated and the car wont start at all ? best advise is to seek a qualified Vol.vo electrician .
check your fuses to the trunk lock and its power relays also check the button and wiring for opens or shorts (normally a broken wire between the button and the power lock is culprit)
Mileage on timing belt, depends on year ? make (volvo) model (c70) and engine size?. heres a couple of mileage readings, the 1998 c70 with a 2.3 turbo engine is due every 70,000 miles. the 1999 -2001 c70 with 2.3 turbo is due every 105,000 miles. the 2002- 2004 c70 with the 2.3 engine is also at 105,000. the 1998 c70 with the 2.4 engine is due every 70,000 miles. the 1999-2001 c70 with the 2.4 engine is due every 105,000 miles. the 2002- 2004 c70 with the 2.4 engine is due every 105,000 miles. god luck hope this helps.
remove the fuse for the vanity light and look to aftermarket companies for the visors as there may be something else out there b etter than oem but overall volvos are the best engineered vehicles on the road buy a vw if you want that proven
