In the center console (the junk box) at the back is a switch (Valet), when this switch has been pressed, the glove box and the boot (trunk), can only be opened with the Master key being physically inserted into the lock (the hole next to the model label on the boot), this is so that the valet with only the valet key (green key), can not get access to your luggage/valuables. Once it has been physically unlocked with the master key (black key), it will again open by poking kitty on the nose (button press).

If the electric release button and the key do not work, you may have to remove the back seat and try to gain entry that way.

Trunk latch is not lock even with the slam the trunk down hard.

it sounds as if the locking latch on the rear panel has been distorted with the heavy load, smother the lock on the trunk with grease and gently lower down and see where the grease leaves a mark , this way you can see where the latch on the rear panel should be , both the lock on the trunk and the latch on the rear panel have some adjustment so you will have to adjust both until they line up again

Can't open the trunk of my chevy cavalier 2003 with key or button. can I get in the trunk from the inside of the car?

with the stamped brackets that add strength to this area behind the rear seat i don`t think you can gain access this way.so you can try pulling the trunk lock out with a dent puller and replace the trunk lock.there is a lock clip that holds the lock in the trunk lid that you may have to replace as well.the new trunk lock can be keyed to your original key as well.

2000 Intrepid Trunk Lock

All newer vehicles have an emergency manual trunk release inside the trunk.

This should be basically a rip cord directly attached to the trunk locking mechanism. Most modern ones have a yellow handle on the ceiling of the trunk that will release the trunk latch if it is pulled. Yours may be a different color, but if you get in there with a flash light you can probably trace a steel wire from the trunk latch back to some sort of handle that looks like you can pull it. Its definitely worth a shot.

How to get into trunk w/o keys and trunk opener. Keys are locked in trunk and button inside car is locked.

Using your keyless entry on the keypad, press the 5 digit code to get into the door and press the 6 key immediately after. Lincoln has several codes in addition to the 5 digit keyless entry like pressing the 3 to open all the doors, the 6 for the trunk and pressing the last 2 buttons at the same time to lock the doors.

2005 audi a8 trunk + upgrades for ipod integration

I had exact same problem, but what I found out was a three step solution to the problem.
1) The trunk lock above the trunk lid tself - sometimes looses coiling retention for the lock to work properly, which in effect does not properly lock wrap around the pull down electronic unit located in the body of the car/trunk that catches and pull the trunk lid down SOLUTION: check and make sure lock is works properly. you cab check by opening trunk and locking it with remote key, then pry the lock with a screw driver to see if it unlocks or stays locked

2) The motor catching unit in the body of the car/trunk that catches the lid and draws it down can be off balance (sitting too low to catch the lock (upper trunk lid with lock) to pull it down and stay locked. Have a mechanic - Audi preferrably, check the positon and allignment to adjust it, so it can catch trunk lid and lock to stay locked. HOPE THIS HELPS!
