The mirror got hung on a vine when I backed up and came off cleanly. Nothing is broken and the cable is still attached. I took off the panel inside the door where the mirror attaches inside but cannot put the cord back through there. The brackets that held the mirror housing onto the side of the car are missing also. I have to get this fixed to get the car inspected. Got an expired inspection tix this a.m. Oh *#@!. Thanks.

no the door pannel does not need to come off but there is a triangle shaped plastic trim pannel above the door pannel that needs to be removed to access the mounting bolts.

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. Then you can access the mirror assembly.. it's a huge pain to change such a small part
