2000 grand cherokee stalls

30 below,wow,jeep can't handle it...too burrr-cold...

which engine? 2000 GC, is a body, stalling is and engine issues.

there are 5 reasons (physics) to stall, and 50 ways. (reality,say head valve stick hot only??? and lots more.)

ill not list them (searching shows my posts doings so 100 times)
but will ask you one questions.
can you save the stall with a fast right foot.??????????

does the dash lamps (any ) go dead at stall point.?

the scan tool only works best , scanning and driving and for sure
at the stall point, so?
for example misfire codes clear in 1 second if gone.
so you missed that...... real time scanning is best, others like trips
to autozoned are near useless. IMO. why work, blind, ?

Engine stall or RPM fluctuates at idle.

This problem is commonly caused by a dirty automatic idle speed control valve and throttle valve. Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner (do not use carburetor spray cleaner!) from NAPA or Carquest (made by CRC chemicals) and spray it into the air intake while the engine is running, use up about 1/2 the can, engine will try to stall hold the speed up, shut it down and let it soak for 30 minutes, restart and blow out the remaining fluid, shut it down and disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 Min's to reset the base idle control

Take it to Auto Zone they have a computer they can hook up and let you know what the problem could be. Good Luck.

Hi, think i might can help you, have you done a fuel pressure test if not here what you need to do.

1. Start and run the engine. Verify normal fuel system pressure of 339

kPa +/- 34 kPa (49.2 psi +/- 5 psi).

2. Stop the engine. Verify that the fuel system pressure does not fall below

207 kPa (30 psi) in less than five (5) minutes.

3. If the fuel pressure does not fall below 207 kPa (30 psi) in less than five (5)

minutes, then the long crank time may not be due to the fuel system. Further

diagnosis must be made to the entire engine system.

Hope this helps you, because lack of fuel can cause a missfire and by what you said this is were i would start before spending any more money. If i can help just re post.

it's in your auto start system. mine does the same thing. after it sets fot 5 mins. it starts. if it is a factory installed auto-start, have dealer check. if it was installed by someone else, theirs a problem with installation or wired wrong.

your problem is the crankshaft positioning sensor(CPS) located at the transmission bell house.had the same problem with my 99 jeep sport.the dealer said it was the pcm.but when i replaced the cps never had the recurring problem of engine stalling after 30 mins of driving.

it sounds to me like you need tie rods and hub assembly's and bushings

Replace, or have the fuel filter replaced. Replace the air filter as well. If it still does it, have the fusable link(s) checked, as if the connection(s) is not secure, it will cause the vehicle to start sometimes, or die while driving. Also have a diagnostics done at your local mechanic, or a local automotive store (usually a free service; stores may vary)

Sounds like a crank sensor.
