Battery is fully charged and the car is lighting up (obviously getting the battery power) but the car will still not start. Any ideas?

If the engine cranks but won't start, someone will need to figure out if you are lacking fuel to the injectors or spark to the plugs to proceed with diagnosis.

SOURCE: Changing battery in Ford Escort key ring?

If you have the factory Ford remote you do not see any screw holding this case together. It is simply snapped together. Use a butter knife to open. Fit the knife at the seam and gently pry open. The the battery can be replaced

SOURCE: the car won't start; lights,

Check the starter and the starter relay or fuse. A client of mines car was doing the same thing, it ended up being two issues, the starter not working anymore, and a relay that was bad. If I am not mistaken everything should be labeled in the fuse box under the hood and will tell you where the fuse/ relay is for your vehicle

Check to make sure that there's power from the alternator to the battery on the charge-back wire. If nothing's there, then your alternator is junk and you'll have to replace it again.

The battery won't stay charged

Hi it is possible that you Alternator is faulty,if you have access to a VoltMeter ,check the battery voltage in the morning before you try to start it you should have around 12.7 volts for a charged battery if not fully charge your battery again and check the voltage with your car running you should have around 14 volts with the engine reving at 1500 revs.ifyou get around 12 volts then your lights are taking more power from the battery than the Alternator can replace. You could also get your local garage to Drop Test your battery to see if any of the Cells are faulty

Not a sensor or fuse. Possibly the battery: only way to know is have it checked. Best way is check when car wont start. Should have over 12 volts. I would suspect alternator is not charging battery. Put a voltmeter on battery when car is running. Voltmeter should read 13.5-14 volts. If not, something's not right. Check your battery grounds for tightness and cleaness. Sometimes a loose connection will keep battery from either charging or starting. If you still have the problem, check your starter for a short, drawing too much amperage.

My 1998 ford escort stop running no lights

start with the battery. needs at least 11 or 12 volts to start the car. By no lights, do you mean nothing, absolutely nothing comes on? no lights on dash when you turn key to on? If so, need to check battery connections. are they both tight and clean? Is battery fully charged? Before you can diagnose the car you musthave a good battery that is fully charged. Then you can try and start it. If it still wont start or crank over you may have a main fuse out that would be under hood near battery.

1994 ford escort won't turnover, the fuel shutoff light comes on when you press the clutch. can push start and will run

soundsa like the starter or the fender mounted solioid is malfunctioning. Does anytrhing clich as you turn the key to start? If theirs no click at all you might look and the starter relay ( solioid) it's located near the battery and it has the positive battery cable connected to it. Also notice the most common no start is the battery cables aren't making good connection to the battery or the battry is too low as it may be low on charge. Have the battry tested or if handy to do see if it starts normally with jumper cables connected to a running car. If it starts just fine the battery or the charging system needs to be looked into. it it tris to start and crnks slowly and makes bad noises the starter is likly bad. If it had been starting just fine and this happened all the sudden the cables connected to the battery or the battery failing are the most likly.

Car wont start, battery is fully charged, shifter is stuck in park.

If it's a 2000 Escort, check the negative cable connection at the battery. The cable could be bad, or it may be the terminal on the end of the cable.
