TAIL LIGHT NOT WORKING

It can be faulty tail light bulb or its issue with tail light control switch or its wiring's are short.

Check the voltage at fuse slot of tail light.Do you receive 12 volt there. If not, then it says tail light switch is not receiving power supply.

SOURCE: No rear brake light / turn signals on 2001 Chevy Cavalier

The problem is the turn signal/headlight/hazard switch assembly on the steering column which the brake light wiring runs through. The part is easy to change and cost about $50 at most parts stores

SOURCE: Chev Cavalier 2003 only one rear turn/brake/hazard light

I have a 2002 Chev Cavalier that had the same exact problem. I replaced the bulb harness (purchased from a chevy dealership for around $5) which was fairly easy to do. I have had zero problems with it since.

SOURCE: Tail lights don't work on 1998 Chevy Silverado.

check the wiring from the tailights back to the fuse panel, it sounds like an open connection. if i recall correctly check under the dash on the drivers side near the fuse panel for a bunch of wires in a bundle and look carefully for a wire or two that are cut/shorted/or seperated, you can also check under the drivers side kick panel by the hood release.

Not sure, but I've heard a bad hazard switch can cause strange problems.
Also, if your truck has a body control module that controls interior and lights, that may be your problem, too. Good luck.

replace both bulbs,, on the chevy they use the new bulbs with the very thin wire that goes into the socket, they have been having problems with the plastic in the socket getting hot and being partially covered, which makes the connection no good,, try this, with a small, screwdriver or if you have one a small pick tool, gently pry the wire outward from the socket,, Just a very little will do the trick,, then put the bulb in the socket, you should be fine after that ,, if the rear lights are working, then nothing is wrong with the signal switch, since they are on the same circuit. your hazard switch you replaced was probably ok also. if this doesn't work, do the same thing on the bulbs,, to insure a good contact

2003 Chevy Silverado When I apply the brakes the

I had an issue like this one on a 2007 Colorado. I assume you mean the turn signal indicator inside the truck lights up. It was a bad bulb. think it was the turn signal bulb on the side that is lighting up. As for the gear indication being dim there is more than one bulb that lights them up and one may have blown. I hope this helps.

Sounds like the turn signal flasher module has gone bad. It controls the brake lights and turn signals. It is located under the drivers side of the dash. If is a rectangular black box with a grey connector and 8 or so wires connected to it.

Brake lights wont work! All others do!

I just had the same problem on my '04 Silverado. All it was was corrosion in the socket/bulb. Put some dialectic grease on both the bulbs and worked them in and out a couple of times and now they work fine. Was weird that they both went out suddenly and together but I guess they are made exactly the same.
