When i first crank the car it idles at like three or so then goes to zero and cuts of it does this a few times especially if i push the brake, i have learned to rev engine lightly and press brake and put in drive at that time, i can drive it then but it will cut off if i stop at a stop sign within a few minutes of driving.. then it switches to not cutting off just jumping at stop signs/ lights and after a few minutes of driving it stops and starts just fine with no further issues until the next time i start it after a sitting period

Might be a leak on your brake booster (this will most probable give you a hard brake pedal or a "sucking sound " when applying brakes) also check the vacumm pipe from the engine to the brake booster. It might have a leak, so when you press the brakes it influences the air mixture.

BBest suggestion take it to a Nissan dealer sn that they can do a diagnostic. A problem like this can be so many things. Ignition coil, HT leads, sparkplugs, faulty or poorly conected sensors etc. On my fathers Audi A4 it turned out to be the Lamda sensor. (Car sounds like an old datsun on a cold morning when you start it in the morning) And yes a lot of people will replace one part after the other until the car works and you will have to pay for their trail and error.

Well the last place that replaced the first sensor at $300 plus i hadnt even left the parking lot and told them the propblem wasnt fixed, they have put it on all kinds of machines, and no codes pop up.... but i told them i paid to have it fixed and its not so they kept the car another day and changed the mass air flow thing..(without asking my permission first) at $180 which still didnt fix the problem so he refunded the $180....but i will take your advice and try to go to the nissan dealership and go from there everything points to the throttle position sensor now that ive done more research and all of the "symptoms" my car has, but i mentioned that initially and they changed everything but... go figure lol. thanks for the advice and i will get all of these things looked at just to clear my mind and fix trhe problem. thank you

My Maxima acted the same way until I had the Idle Air Control Valve replaced.

Cranks but why doesn't it start until afer two or three tries?

Faulty fuel pump return valve causing fuel to drain back to fuel tank , connect a inline fuel pressure gauge start engine , note pressure stop engine pressure could drop a few psi then hold , if pressure drops close to zero replace valve or pump .

Hissing sound brake related

hissing sound is a vacuum leak somewhere on the power assist part of the system as in a bad booster..try this test..with the car off..push the brake pedal down a few times and release all the vacumm and see how far the pedal goes down..after a few pumps with your foot it should become hard and drop just a bit..once it feels"solid' or hard..hold the pedal down with moderate pressure.. and start the car back up..the pedal should drop a bit further but less than halfway.. if it drops further it needs attention..good luck especially if it goes almost to the floor..

2003 chevy malibu, takes awhile to turn over and start, idle shoots up and down when started, also it stalls when i take turns

How long since a tune-up? Any applicable trouble codes? With extended crank, you can try cycling the key, on and off, a few times before you crank it. If that helps, have to check fuel system. Use a gage and check proper fuel pressure.
Check and clean the idle air system, see if it helps?

What are the proper steps to bleeding your brakes on a 1990 vw golf deisel

For left hand drive vehicles: (If the car does not have ABS system you do not need any diagnostic equipment!)

IMPORTANT NOTE: You need using diagnostic equipment connected to the data link connector of the car in order to bleed the ABS block. Follow instructions by scantool equipment for bleeding the ABS block.

1. This bleeding procedure requires two people. Remove the brake system reservoir cap, and fill up with new brake fluid until "MAX" level is reached.
2. Lift the car, or use a channel for access under vehicle.
3. Put the gearbox in "N" - Neutral position, or in "P" - Parking position for automatic transmission.
4. Start the engine and push the brake pedal firmly for 4 - 5 times to the floor, and maintain the brake pedal pushed to the floor.
5. Begin with the rear right wheel. Another person remove the dust cap and loose the brake caliper bleeding screw until the brake pedal goes to the floor. At this moment maintain the brake pedal pushed to the floor, engine idling, and tight the brake caliper bleeding screw. Use a plastic hose: one end connected to the brake caliper bleeding screw, and another end inside a recovery bottle for used brake fluid.
6. Repeat steps no.#4 and no.#5 until no air flows through the brake caliper bleeding screw. Tight the brake caliper bleeding screw, and put the dust cap in their place.

IMPORTANT NOTE: All the time check the brake fluid level in the brake system reservoir, and fill up if necessary!

7. Push the brake pedal firmly for 4 - 5 times to the floor, and maintain the brake pedal pushed to the floor, engine idling.
8. Continue with the rear left wheel.
9. Repeat steps no.#7 and no.#8 until no air flows through the brake caliper bleeding screw. Tight the brake caliper bleeding screw, and put the dust cap in their place.

IMPORTANT NOTE: All the time check the brake fluid level in the brake system reservoir, and fill up if necessary!

10. Push the brake pedal firmly for 4 - 5 times to the floor, and maintain the brake pedal pushed to the floor, engine idling.
11. Continue with the front right wheel.
12. Repeat steps no.#10 and no.#11 until no air flows through the brake caliper bleeding screw. Tight the brake caliper bleeding screw, and put the dust cap in their place.

IMPORTANT NOTE: All the time check the brake fluid level in the brake system reservoir, and fill up if necessary!

13. Push the brake pedal firmly for 4 - 5 times to the floor, and maintain the brake pedal pushed to the floor, engine idling.
14. Continue with the front left wheel.
15. Repeat steps no.#13 and no.#14 until no air flows through the brake caliper bleeding screw. Tight the brake caliper bleeding screw, and put the dust cap in their place.
16. Now the brakes are bleeded. Check the brake fluid level in the reservoir. Fill up with new brake fluid until "MAX" level is reached. Put back the brake reservoir cap.
17. Test the car brake system. The brake pedal movement no more than 1/3 of total stroke until the floor, when brake pedal is applied. Maximum admissible is 1/2 of total stroke.

Idle goes up and down, check engine light on, brakes hard to push

Check engine for vacuum leaks at all hoses, hose connections, intake gasket etc. I have also seen retarded engine timing produce low vacuum. If no leaks, check anything in control system that controls timing...however, I believe you will find a leak before you need to go there. Also check Idle control valve and egr valve for malfunction or blockages.

CAM SENSOR ENGINE LIGHT. MAX RPM 2000 SOMTIMES

I seen this before first of all don't let the car dealer to BS the way to your money, most of the time is noting wrong whit the sensor it self but is the plug than goes in to the sensor this what i recommend is to buy another sensor from your local auto part store or salvage yard (cheaper) get three pieces of cable and solder directly in to the sensor brake the plastic around the sensor plug if necessary and secure the three cables to it put some silicon in between the solder and the place the new sensor on top of the old one so you now wish wire goes to which and cut and attach one by one. I now this works 100% i have done it my self many times if you need diagrams or sensor locations you can find that at www.alldatadiy.com now if you still have problems unplug all harness especially all the ones than comes from the back of the engine because that engine tends to leak oil on top of the harness if you have wires doing shortcut replace that section you can solder use heat string tube and change the insulation hose they sale those on part stores to put some zip tides on the ends and you will have your car back and will last Note don't let it get to close to the exhaust use zip tides to keep from touching hot areas.

Cut off

I suggest you to check your brake boster if there is air leak, to do this, start the engine, press the brake and hold. Observe the engine idle while you are holding down, if the engine become running roughly or engine cut off, it means you have to replace brake boster. but if this procedure doesn't make sense, try to knock the fuse housingseveral times while the engine is running if the engine.if cut off while knocking, most probable there is loos fuse or relay. secure all the fuse and try to knock again, if the problem still excesting, try to wigle in deferent direction the wire loom around the engine bay especially the wire harness of crank shaft and cam shaft sensors while the engine is running. if stil can't find the problem check the ignition switch harness try to wigle as while. if the problem occure while wigling the wire harness definitely you have loose connection.
