2004 Honda Odyssey Temperature gauge issue

The variable temperature know only works in the extreme. Temperature of air blowing out is only cold or hot (basically either end of the temperature knob). There is no middle ground. On an unrelated note, the blower stopped kicking in on fan 1 and 2 but was fixed by replacing the resistor plate. Thanks.

SOURCE: AC STOPPED BLOWING COLD; ONLY BLOWS ON MAX MANUAL SETTING

Your AC is low on refrigerant; The AC compressor needs a minimum amount of regrigerant to run. If and when it does run (while low on refrigerant) the air coming out of the vents will not be cold. The refrigerant you require is R-134A and is available over the counter but if you are the least bit unsure as to how to add refrigerant, taking it to a garage that does AC recharging would be your best play. If you want to try to add refrigerant on your own you will need the following, 1LB can of R-134A, an AC hose adapter to deliver the refrigerant, and preferably an AC pressure guage to ensure you are not overfilling the AC line which will damage the system.

SOURCE: 2004 Honda Civic LX Heater

Know problem to check out.
-Check your coolant level, low coolant can cause that.
-A bad thermostat could cause that
-Bad headgasket could cause that too, but you have to use a headgasket test kit.

it hard to say what it is without doing any test on it.
good luck

A/c blowing hot air from front vents, but rear A/c vents are cold in a 2001 Honda odyssey.

It is very likely you have a stuck air temperature control blend door and or the blend door actuator has failed, since the dash must be removed to replace these parts you always do both.

Air pockets in radiator

Air can be purged. While your engine is cool remove radiator and reservoir caps. Place funnel in radiator. Turn heat to the highest position and start vehicle. Add coolant to radiator as needed while vehicle warms up. You should see bubbles coming out of radiator. Fill reservoir to between cold and hot fill lines. Replace caps when bubbling stops but before coolant temperature reaches normal operating temperature. Never remove the radiator cap until engine has fully cooled down.

2004 camry ac light blinking and throws hot air. Suggestions?

My 2003 Toyota Camry AC often starts blowing hot air and the AC light starts blinking. I don't know why the following process works, but it does. Using the temp selector (left) reduce the temperature all the way down to Max Cold and then push the Auto button. It will start blowing out very cold air. After a little while push the temp selector to the desired temperature.

2004 Honda Civic LX Heater blows hot air while driving but will start blowing cold air when you stop or slow down. Can be driving and this can happen randomly as well. Temperature gauge on dash seems to...

first check the coolant level and make sure it is topped off. Check the water pump drive belt to see if it is loose. check the water pump by pinching the top radiator hose closed with your rag covered hand with the warm engine idling. When you release it, you should feel a surge of coolant in the hose if the water pump is working properly. The thermostat may be stuck open--changing it may help. There could also be a restriction of some kind in the radiator or heater core. Flushing the system may help.

1999 odyssey blows some cold air when moving

It could be a number of things. Check to see if the clutch is turning on the compressor. If it keeps turning on and off (cycling) it is low on freon. Is the condenser clean and free of bugs and road debris? Is the radiator fan coming on? If not that could explain why it is cold while driving, but hot while idling. Most all vehicles will blow colder on the AC when driving down the road because you are getting cooler air through the condenser. Hooking up a set of gauges to the vehicle will tell you best what is going on. Basic rule of thumb is: low side should be in the 30-40 lb range while running and the high side should be around 100 lbs higher than the ambient air temperature. Anything drastically different means you have a problem.
